8 "Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy." -Exodus 20:8
5 One person esteems one day above another; another esteems every day alike. Let each be fully convinced in his own mind. -Romans 14:5
The Problem
Paul denies the fifth commandment when he tells the Romans that esteeming certain days is a personal discretion.
The Answer
The Sabbath law was abolished after the resurrection of Jesus Christ. In Romans 14:5, Paul gave both the Jew, who still wanted to observe the Sabbath, and the Gentile, who wanted separation from any pagan holidays, permission to be content with their own decisions.
