Me, myself and I

guess this whole web site thing was my idea, so I'd better add some stuff
about me.
Well, I'm from a Jersey farm outside of Harrow. I guess this officially makes me a farm girl, although now I live in the big city and work in software. But, I wouldn't mind moving out to the country one day. (Dad would like us to buy a 30 or 40 acre lot, with a barn for his horses, and throw up a granny flat for him and Mom. We'll see...)
Right now, George and I live and work in Kitchener-Waterloo with our daughter Faith (that's her in the picture).
I went to Wilfrid Laurier University for an Honours BA in English Language and Literature. At the time, everyone wondered if I was going to be a teacher, or unemployed.
Well, we've got this little thing called the technology triangle in Waterloo, and they actually need people like me. Technology is great, but if you can't communicate how it works or what it's good for, it might as well be like the proverbial tree falling in the forest with no one to hear.
So, now I work for a healhcare informatics company, Agfa (used to be Mitra), as a Technical Writer. No, this isn't a boring job. And, yes, I am a geek at heart! I create online help systems for the products that we produce, and its pretty neat learning about all of the different types of technology, and then trying to figure out how to best communicate this information to our clients.
