Sword

J. Robert
Oppenheimer
The Atomic Research
Sword of America
= Knowledge, its mighty sword!
Oppenheimer’s research allowed America
to become a lethal enforcer.
A scientist developed an idea that would save or better
democracy. Oppenheimer worked with the
government of the United States
for seventeen years. When the idea of a
hydrogen bomb was proposed, Oppenheimer was against it wholly. He was dismissed. They built the bomb anyway.
The sword of America
is the wayward use of knowledge it harvests.
A boom in scientific world! Hooray! One step closer to solving the
energy crisis! How can we make it into a weapon? Will it work? I don’t think we
should do that, it is unethical and immoral. You’re just like them aren’t you?
No, I love America
but I feel a weapon of this destruction should not be developed and unleashed
on people and the environment. You damn sympathizer… look everyone he’s a
communist and is against us!
The most dangerous sword that America
has was created by scientific minds. The
sword of America
is the mud of America,
it’s the genius of America,
and it’s the thorn of America.
Scientific achievements occurred for many reasons but it all
lead to the same effect. America
moved further up the ladder of medical and technological status. However, these achievements were most
motivated under the soul of America. America
was a haven for justice and a working ground for equality. The actions of women like Jane would be
futile if it is blown away by misused scientific achievements.
The “Pax Romania”
(Golden Age of Rome) of the Roman government is the age that America
has lived through after World War II.
Eventually the Roman Empire collapsed due to
economic, social, and political turmoil.
America
has been the experiment of a government of the people, for the people, and by
the people. But will it perish? Can a warrior swing his sword if his spirit
and is gone? Can a soul and spirit exist
if its body was cut by its own sword?
Can America
survive the coming future if it lacks a central soul and rallying spirit?
