Pouncival is one of the younger cats. Maybe the same age as Mistoffelees. He hangs out with cats like Tumblebrutus(who some people think is Pounce's brother.)
He is a very cute and playful cat. He seems to be old enough to understand that the tribe doesn't want Grizabella around when he scratches her and shoves her when she appears.
There's been some argument over this, but I think Pouncival's mate is Etcetera. Simply because they're both really cute and playful, plus they both seem to be stuck on the tribe's biggest flirts - Tugger and Bomby.
His role in the show isn't exactly an up front one. He's almost a chorus cat, having only one solo line in the Jellicle ball.
