The best way to feel ExtraOrdinary is to live extraordinary! If you find yourself feeling down and in a rut, take a minute to see if your home is in need of a makeover. Maybe you need to reposition your furniture, or add some accessories that make you feel bright and cheery. A new picture or even changing the placement of your pictures will change the whole look of a room. I love to decorate, to craft and to create! I love to take the time and make something that everyone loves. Everyone, even those on budgets, can learn to decorate their homes for little to nothing. All it takes is the want, the will and the ability to unleash your creativity. |
Have a special occasion coming up and you want to add a little flare to your room? A birthday party or maybe even holiday decorations? Try taking the pictures off your wall and wrapping them like gifts, add some ribbon and bows and you have an instant decoration! Metallic paper is beautiful for Christmas in red, green or gold and Happy Birthday print paper is cute for a party, or even the paper that you are basing the theme around. A baby shower? Pink and Blue print paper or even fabric. Halloween, spooky paper or even black paper with orange bows and little ribbons. A dinner party? Natural fabrics or natural papers with fabric bows and greenery. A superbowl or sports party? Print paper to match your theme. The best part? When you unwrap your pictures, it's like getting a new gift yourself! |
Need a quick centerpiece for a table? How about a cluster of candles nestled in a tray covered with wrapped leftover holiday candy? Something sweet and pretty and everyone young and old will love the look and the treat! |
Need throw pillows? Make them! Take the dresses and blouses that you were going to throw away or give away and use them to create fabulous throw pillows for sofas, beds or chairs. Old t-shirts make great pillows for kids, and best of all, when my little girl out grows those cute dresses she and I both love, I make beautiful pillows with them for her bed. She never has to part with them! |
Instant art? Use poster board and gift wrapping paper to make easy, inexpensive poster pictures. Or, find your kids making a million pictures only to pick the paper off the floor or see them throw it in the trash? Save it, cut out pieces of it and glue it to poster board, in a collage, highlight the individual glued pieces with a gold paint pen and you have a wonderful piece of art, made by the greatest artists in the world...your kids! Put them under a mat board and frame, they make wonderful gifts for grandparents, aunts and uncles and many of them grouped together on a wall make a great mural and your kids will be so proud of their work! |
