Through the years I have had many misconceptions of what a witch was. As a child I believed in the Disney version, as a teenager I just did not believe in that kind of thing, and as an adult I was sure they were devil worshiping, animal sacrificing, evil people. Then one day I met my first witch. I must admit I was taken back a step when she told me what she was. After all I was pretty sure she was a spell casting, broom riding, devil worshiping kind of person. As I began to inquire about her beliefs I realized that they were not too different than my own. A belief that what you do will come back to you, and do nothing that will harm others. As time has passed I have realized some of the benefits of knowing a witch. To start with there are the herbs she grows in her garden. They taste really bad but they work wonders for a cold. Then there are the two basic rules she follows. The 3 fold rule and do what you will as long as it harms no one. Both excellent ways to live. She is a very grounded and centered person with an incredible insight into life.
Most people I know have the same views in one way or another as I have had. I guess they just never gave it a chance. So if you know some one who is a witch, or happen to meet some one who is a witch please give them a chance and get to know them before you make a decision on them based on what you think they are. You might be as surprised as I was.
Now I have not chosen this as my path in life. I am on my own path, or I should say searching for my own path. But as an outsider who had the foresight to give it a chance I am happy I did.
An outsiders view
