You bellow 'Ranga....'
Ryvan bellows 'boy, get over here.'
Ranga bellows 'Uhoh!'
Ranga comes sneaking in.
em taps her foot a bit
Ranga cringes in terror!
em puts Spot under one arm and her son under the other
Ranga starts following you.
You say 'Now, we're going to the Fortress'

Sunburst Courtyard.
A fountain carefully crafted of marble and gold, sits at the centre of this
courtyard, offering water for all. Slate slabs and granite pieces form a
intricate pattern on the ground around the fountain. There are seating on the
southern end of this room, made from a dark-wood of some sort. Twin pillars
supporting a curved-top doorway mark the exit to this courtyard to the north.
[ obvious exits: N ]
Ryvan Traofann, {Captain, Amadician Army}, Proud husband of Ewiene Ellis'era. is standing here.
A fountain is here, offering clear blue water to all.
A Child of the Light is here, arrogantly glaring around.
A Child of the Light fortress sentinel surveys the flow of traffic.
Ranga Traofann, son to Ryvan and Ewiene is standing here.

You say 'Sit'
Ryvan says 'Have a seat.'
em points to the fountain edge
Ranga sits down.
You say 'Well?'
Ryvan says 'Have you eaten yet boy?'
Ranga bursts out 'I only wanted to see the Ogier buildings!'
Ryvan says 'Might be your last meal with the mood youve created.'
You say 'It never occured to you to ask for permisson?'
Ranga says poutily 'I had some scraps last night.'
Ryvan gives a cinnamon pastry to Ranga.
You say 'Or to go see a Ogier building closer by?'
Ryvan says 'Best enjoy that.'
Ranga says 'I did say I wanted to go and see the buildings and daddy said he'd take me.'
Ranga says 'But he was always busy!'
You say 'As it is, your fater was out saving Ogier's last night'
Ryvan says 'Thats the life a soldier lives.'
Ryvan says 'When I had the time, I would have shown you.'
You say 'You would have had one huge pile of smoking ruins to come home to, had we not been out to the Steddings last night'
Ranga mumbles something about the Ogier in Stedding Mardoon.
Ryvan says 'And I could have point out the witched too!'

You say 'As it is, you first off entered Tar Valon'
Ryvan spits over his shoulder.
You say 'Then you enter the tainted Tower grounds?!'
Ryvan says 'Full of flaming witches!'
You say 'Then you go talking to witches?'
Ranga says 'I've never been to the Tower!'
Ryvan says 'And being nice?!?'
You say 'And promise yourself away to Gaidin?'
Ranga says 'I sat in the square!'
Ryvan mutters to himself in complete disgust.
Ranga says 'Guyding protect the princesses!'
Ryvan says 'We have taught you better than this.'

You say 'those are not princesses'
You say 'those are darkfriends'
Ranga says 'They are?'
You nod in agreement.
Ryvan says 'Those princesses are the witches who steal little boys candies.'
Ryvan says 'And who will no doubt now curse your puppy.'
Ranga frowns.
You say 'Sweetie'
You say 'You know how in regular tales'
You say 'The frog always becomes a prince?'
Ryvan paces back and forth angrily.
You say 'Well, witches are the other way around'
Ranga gasps in astonishment.
Ryvan says 'Well, in this story, the frog turns into a bloody trolloc!'
You say 'They might look like princesses, but they are ugly as frogs on the inside'
You say 'Dark and tainted'
Ranga says 'THOSE were witches?!'
You nod in agreement.
Ranga starts moaning.
You say 'If they were ugly, how would anyone ever fall for their tricks?'
Ryvan says 'Those foul things who touched you, possibly tainted you somehow, were witches.'

You say 'And on a second note'
Ryvan says 'Did they do you any harm boy?'
Ranga lets out a disgusted 'Ugh!'
You say 'We know about Rycia's letter to you'
Ryvan says 'Aye! I intercepted that letter. Thank the Light!'
Ranga says 'What letter?'
You say 'There will absolutely not be a "next time" or any entering the Tower'
say You say 'In this town, if you write "R.Traofann" on something'
You say 'It end up in the hands of your father' [ooc: Yeah, heh. She actually mailed the wrong person...]
You say 'Thank the Light!'
Ranga says 'I never went into the tower, I thought it was the Queen's'
Ryvan says 'The only time you shall enter that den of darkfriends again is if you follow an army spreading the Light to it.'

You say 'Well, to sort all this out since me and your father are quite upset'
You say 'I've discuss this with The Inquisitors'
Ryvan frowns.
Ranga cringes in terror!
You say 'And they have agreed this might need some further investigation'
Ranga says 'Oh no!'
You say 'Even Rhadam is takin an interest in this.'
Ranga peers around him trying to find a way out.
Ryvan says 'You had best hope you remain pure son. If not, the Creator save you...'
em gives her son a sad look
Ryvan puts his hand on Ewi's shoulder.
Ranga sniffles and says 'I only wanted to see the buildings the Ogier in Mardoon had spoken of.
You say 'Lets hope your innocent saved you from the taint'
You say 'If not, they will find it and cure you sweetie'
Ryvan says 'Next time you wish to visit somewhere, be sure to ask. If there is a next time...'
Ranga says 'Will they... hurt me?'
You say 'They will only find the truth dear'
Ranga looks up with a trembling lip.
You say 'Mommy will be there with you'
Ryvan says 'The truth...'
Ranga says 'But I have already spoken the truth!'
You say 'And I promise that if we need to cure you'
You say 'I'll make sure it doesn't hurt'
You say 'ok?'
Ranga brightens a little.
Ryvan says 'Those witches may have down things to you without your knowing son. '
Ranga says 'Oh thank you thank you mommy!'
em gives her son an odd smile
Ryvan says 'It needs to be determined if you remain untainted.'

You say 'And sweetie, one more thing.'
Ranga says 'Yes mommy?'
You say 'Next time Uncle Clovin tells you to go somewhere'
You say 'Do as he tells you.'
Ranga says 'I will, mommy.'
Ranga shuffles his feet in embarassment.
You say 'He got quite a temper, and a short patience with dwelling'
Ranga says 'I was afraid he'd hurt me.'
Ranga pouts.
You say 'I'm quite sure, he would have'

You say 'What are we to do with you?'
Ranga says 'Give me a real sword?'
Ranga blinks his eyes innocently.
Ryvan says 'That is a good question...'
Ryvan gives a home-made wooden toy to Ranga.
Ranga beams a smile at Ryvan.
Ryvan says 'Play with that while your mother and I talk.'
Ranga nods in agreement.
You say 'If he can lift it, after he talked to the Hand I think he should get one'
Ranga sits down on the ground and starts playing with a wooden horse.
Ryvan says 'I dont see why not. The younger you start, the more practice you get.'
You say 'Just shorten it a bit, for the balance.'
Ryvan says 'perhaps something small like yours?'
You say 'And tell the recruits I'll cut their throats open if they go sloppy and hurt him'
Ryvan says 'indeed'
You say 'They're supposed to teach him, not stab him in the foot'

Ranga gets a twig and a bit of string and makes a lance of it, tying it to the wooden horse.
Ranga mouths 'chaaaaaarge!' as he charges another stick with his toy.
Ranga turns his toy around and charges another stick figure.
Ryvan says 'Remember, those are witches youre charging boy.'
Ryvan says 'The kind that live in the tower.'
Ranga says 'Can I have a piece from your cloak to dress my stick figures in?'
Ranga says 'Then I can charge them!'
Ryvan says 'You ask your mother to foul her cloak?'
em takes a napkin from her pouch and gives to her son
You say 'that'll have to do'

You say 'it's a bit hard to explain.'
Ranga smiles at you.
You say 'But while we become holier and more close to the Creator, the longer we serve'
You say 'Witches become uglier and more foul and tainted the longer they do dishes.'
You say 'And they do all their dishes for the Dark One.'
Ranga says 'Will I become ugly too if I do dishes?'
Ranga looks a bit worried.
You say 'No dear'
You say 'You do dishes for the Creator'
Ranga fidgets with a napkin and dresses a stick figure in it.
You say 'You'll just grow more beatiful by the day'
Ranga smiles brightly.
Ryvan says 'Only if you befriend the witches and do their dishes will you become ugly like them son.'
em scratches her head a bit
Ranga reaches into his backpack and gets some crayons.
You say 'This is kinda hard to explain to a child '
You say 'But that will do for now.'
You say 'And don't become a Gayding... sorry Gaidin.'

Ranga carefully draws lines in many colors on the bottom of the white napkin.
Ranga says 'So what do guyding do if they don't protect princesses?'
Ryvan says 'The fight the Dark Ones battles.'
You say 'They do protect the witches, but only once they become full of witchery and old.'
Ranga tears a napkin in two and dresses another stickfigure in the pure white half.
You say 'Then they can inprison a Gaidin'
You say 'And tell him what to do'
You say 'And he has to do it.'
Ranga lets out a disguted 'Ugh!'.
Ranga turns a bit green.
You say 'And he has to die'
Ranga quickly draws a yellow sunburst on the figure riding the horse.
You say 'And she will drag all the life out of him'
You say 'To make sure he dies first'
Ranga puts his crayons away in his pack.
You say 'We call them lapdogs'
Ryvan says 'Witches are cold and filthy creatures son.'
You say 'Caue they are just like Spot' [the boys dog]
Ranga says 'Lapdogs! The guyding are lapdogs?!'
You say 'They have to do as they are told'
Ranga mutters disgustedly.
Ryvan nods at Ranga.
You say 'Or they'll get spanked and left without dinner'
Ryvan says 'they are indeed.'
You say 'So watch with those too.'

Ranga takes his wooden horse and charges the figure in white and stripes with the sound 'ta ta ta ta ta taaaa'.
Ranga mumbles 'didn't know the lapdogs were the guyding'.
Ranga lets out a heartfelt 'Bah!'
Ryvan says 'Well, had you waited to travel with me, I could have shown you all this.'
Ryvan eats an apple.
Ranga says 'But you were busy!'
Ranga charges a white figure with his toy horse.
You say 'Sweetie, wrong one.'
You say 'Concentrate on the ugly ones. Not those in white.'
Ranga holds up a white figure and shows you the colors on the hem of the white dress.
You say 'Ah.'
You say 'Then it's ok.'
You pat Ranga on his head.
Ranga holds up the rider of the horse and shows you the yellow sun on the white cloak.
Ranga continues his game of charging, fussing with a tuft of grass and a stick in between.

You say 'the evil witches got dresses in different colors'
You say 'I can give you a few pieces of different cloth if you want to?'
Ranga mumbles softly 'Die witch!' and he charges the witch figure, trampling it under the wooden horse.
You say 'I'm certain Hand Anor got a few of each kind'
Ryvan grins evilly.
Ranga says 'Oh yes, that'd be lovely!'
Ryvan whispers to you, 'shall i visit the seamstress and fetch the boy some proper 'cloaks'?'
You smile at him.
You say 'Well, we don't want him to misunderstand the look of things again, do we?'
You say 'so might as well.'
Ryvan nods in agreement.
Ranga drops his toys and grabs another stick and ties it to another stick figure.

Ryvan says 'mind you mother boy. ill be back in a few moments.'
You say 'You know, for some reason I'm finding this game interesting.'
Ranga places the new figure before the girl in white and grabs his horse again.
You say 'Who is that?'
em points at the figure
Ranga says 'He's a guyding!'
You say 'Ah.'
You nod in agreement.
Ranga says 'See? He has a sword!'
Ryvan has arrived from the north.
You say 'Did you find anything?'
Ryvan says 'I took some scraps she had lying about in a basket out front and left her some coins.'
You nod in agreement.
You say 'now, she can't have a red dress. Since she had a guyding'
em shakes her head... and mumbles 'Gaidin'
Ranga charges a guyding and thwaps him over the head with the Child's lance.
Ryvan hands Ranga several scraps of fabric in various colors.
Ryvan says 'for your witches.'
Ranga says 'Oh! Thanks daddy!'
Ryvan beams a smile at Ranga.

You say 'The red does not have any lapdog.'
Ranga says 'Why not?'
Ryvan ponders life, the universe, and everything.
Ryvan says 'I dont know.'
Ranga says 'Are they more dangerous and don't need a guyding to protect them?'
You say 'She is trying to steal a tainted male channelere instead'
You say 'She goes looking for men who can channel '
Ranga screams in terror!
You say 'And tries to guyding him instead'
Ranga hastily sits on a red patch of fabric, hiding it from his sight.
You say 'But they are hard to find'
You say 'So mostly she is alone.'
Ranga nods at that.
Ranga dresses a white robed stick figure in a scrap of green cloth.
You nod in agreement.
You say 'That is a green'
Ryvan smiles happily.
Ranga smiles brighly.
You say 'She might have two lapdogs'

Ryvan gets a cloak of shifting colors from a backpack.
You snicker softly.
Ryvan tears some fabric off the cloak and hands it to Ranga.
Ryvan puts a cloak of shifting colors in a backpack.
Ranga says 'This is odd fabric.'
Ranga handles it carefully.
You say 'Put that on the lapdogs'
Ryvan says 'This is what the lapdogs wear.'
Ranga says 'I can barely see it against the stones.'
Ranga says 'They do?'
You nod in agreement.
Ranga says 'But then you can't see them?!'
You say 'It's kinda hard sometimes'
You say 'But you got Spot'
You say 'I'm certain he'll notice them.'
You smile at him.
Ranga dresses a stick figure with a sword in a patch of fabric of shifting colors.
You say 'And Sweetie, if you wonder something more, ask Mommy or Daddy. Not the dish-doing witches'
Ryvan says 'Those witches will just cloud your mind with half truths and outright lies.'

Ryvan picks Ranga up and stare directly into his eyes.
Ranga blinks his eyes innocently.
You say 'Don't worry Ryvan. It's for the best.'
Ryvan says 'you do everything you are told, when you are told to do it. do you understand?'
Ranga says meekly 'Yes daddy.'
Ryvan says 'falter and the Creator save you.'
Ryvan hugs Ranga.
Ranga hugs Ryvan.
Ryvan carefully sets Ranga down on the fountain.
Ranga says 'I'll be a good boy.'
Ranga sits down and starts playing again.
You say 'Wait here and don't go no where, I'll be right back'

Einor Saren, an Inquisitor, studies you with distrust.

You whisper to Einor Saren 'Got time to talk to me and my son Sir?'

Sunburst Courtyard.
A fountain is here, offering clear blue water to all.
Ranga Traofann, son of Ryvan and Ewiene is sitting here.

You nod in agreement.

Einor Saren has arrived from the north.
Einor Saren glares around him.
You salute.
Einor Saren snaps to attention and salutes you.
em drags her son up standing
Ok.
Ranga hastily scrambles to his feet.
Ranga clambers to his feet.
Einor Saren says 'Is this the boy?'
Ranga bows clumsily.
You nod in agreement.
You say 'Yes Sir'
Einor Saren says 'How old are you, boy?'
Ranga says 'Greetings uncle errr sir.'
Ranga says 'I'm 8.'
Ranga holds up nine fingers, then eight.
Ranga blushes.
Einor Saren says 'Eight. Do you know how easy it would be for an eight year old to be taken by the Shadow?'
Ranga shakes his head.
em gives her son a worried look
Ok.
Einor Saren says 'Very easily.'
Ranga says 'I don't uncle. Sir.'
Ranga looks to his mother for help.
Einor Saren says 'A darkfriend could grab you up by the collar, and haul you off to a Trolloc camp in a snap.'
Einor Saren snaps his fingers.
Ranga cringes in terror!
> nod Ranga
You nod at him.
Einor Saren says 'Why, you would not even make a meal for a real trolloc.'
Ranga lifts his toy sword.
Ranga says 'I wouldn't be easy to take, I'd poke them with my sword!'
Einor Saren smirks.
You say 'Ranga.'
You say 'Don't point swords at the Hand.'
Ranga blushes.
> frown Ranga
What's bothering you?
Einor Saren says 'Eight years old. You have pluck, at least.'
Ranga says 'I'm sorry uncle. Errr...sir.'
Ranga shuffles his feet uneasily.
Einor Saren says 'I have business to attend to. Is there any reason for me to be concerned that Ranga will try to flee the city in the next few days?'
You say 'he is grounded'
You say 'So he better not try.'
Einor Saren nods in agreement.
Ranga says 'Can't I even go out hunting for rabbits?'
Einor Saren says 'We will talk again little warrior.'
Einor Saren snaps to attention and salutes you.
Ranga pouts.
You salute him.
