The CHS Symphony Orchestra has won the Indiana State School Music Association championship the last seven years in a row, and this winter the group will be performing Mahler’s Symphony No. 4 at Carnegie Hall.

Additionally, Andy serves as music director of the Indianapolis Youth Symphony.

Mr. King earned his bachelor’s degree in music education from Illinois Wesleyan University. Other conducting teachers have included Steven Eggleston, Daniel Hege, Rossen Milanov, and Harold Farberman. Mr. King studied horn with Gail Lewis, Laura Fairfield, Janet Miller, and Phillip Farkas.

An advocate of contemporary art music, Andy has commissioned and premiered works by Peter Gilbert and Joseph Spaniola.

Andy's creative side led him to be a co-creator of The Franklin Park Brass Game - a strategy board game soon to be released in stores near you. Andy is a gifted sculptor of little clay cats, noses, and missles.

When not procrastinating, Andy can be found writing angry letters to former professors, watching the newly syndicated reruns of Everybody Loves Raymond, or just procrastinating some more.
