This game holds a great deal of emotional value to me. Its predecesor, Secret of Mana, inspired me to pursue game development as a career. I spent many years eagerly awaiting its sequel on the SNES, only to be sorely disappointed when it was never released. When I discovered that the game was released in Japan, and then translated by fans, I nearly fell out of my chair. I immediately downloaded the game and it consumed me. Again and again I played it with new characters, with new classes, mixing and matching and trying new strategies. The possiblities simply enthralled me. Eventually, I wrote 4 new characters to bring the total to 10 and the total number of final classes to 40. I also wrote a brief summary of the plot for the new characters. This is but a small tribute to a game that has had a massive effect on my design ethos and concepts.
