Just two games were played
tonight. In the crucial game Eric needed a draw to win the tournament, while a
win would see him achieve the first Flood Cup picket fence since Peter Cronin
in 1986. Eric dominated the middle stages being a crucial tempo ahead. However
a missed rook move allowed Tony to grab the initiative and win a very open and
interesting game.
George is the only one who
can catch Eric. A win next week against Ray Adams will see a single game
play-off for the Flood Cup occurring on May 30.
