Dear Families,             It is with deep regret that I have had to notify you of a change coming soon to The Garden Children’s Memorial. No, we are not closing our doors!!!! However, the individual from whom I received permission to use the flowers featured for each child misrepresented their ownership of the artwork. This person did not have ownership of the flowers and therefore never had the right to grant me permission to display them. I have been notified by the legal counsel of the artist and have been told that I have 30 days to remove the flowers with an additional monetary penalty imposed for each flower left on display for each day over 30 days. So I need to remove the flowers as soon as possible. To avoid such a situation again in the future, I have decided that in lieu of flowers or another form of artwork, we will display a photograph of your child. This way, there will never again be an issue of copyright. I will crop all pictures the same way and all will be the same size. Your child’s photograph will be the link to your web site (if any). I am sorry to rush you, but I do need the photograph of your choice as soon as possible. Any family who has not submitted a picture of their child to me by the end of the 30 days which began today – February 12, 2002, will have their child removed from the Garden which will now be called The Children’s Memorial Garden of Angels. If you have no way of sending me a photograph of your child, I will come up with a graphic that I myself will make that will be in place of a photograph and will be standard for all children without photographs. ***I have had a difficult time replacing emails. If your Email is not posted on your CardingBridge page or other website, but there is a picture, I will use the available photo and you may contact me with your desired picture and I will be happy to switch them for you! The photograph would be preferably a head shot of your child. Please know that I certainly understand the desire to have family included in this photograph, but I will be cropping the photos to show just the face/upper body of your child. This is out of necessity only!!! Thank you in advance for your understanding!
