VULKON Orlando, March 2005

Below are some pictures taken of the Vulkon science fiction convention in Orlando Florida Brent Spiner and Michael Shanks were the main guests as well as Gary Jones and Carmen Argenziano from Stargate SG-1, Dean Haglund and Tom Braidwood from X-Files. Also John Noble (Lord Denathor) from Lord of the Rings. (A VERY nice Aussie actor who really enjoyed meeting the fans!) Greg Evian from Tek War, and Julie Caitlin Brown from Babylon 5.
NICE GUEST LIST VULKON GUYS
The people at Vulkon Entertainment really put on a good show! My only regret is not having enough time to do everything. We missed the costume contest and the games NIck puts on. Sorry Nick! I will try harder next time to go to the games!

Let me just start off with the pictures I took first......

At Friday nights Meet and Greet, we got our first introduction to some of the guests. We got there just in time to see John Noble, Tom Braidwood, Dean Haglund and Gary Jones.

I later caught John Noble and Gary Jones out in the lobby and got my picture taken with them.

Brent Spiner was Saturdays guest. He does a great Patrick Stewart imitation and people going to VULKON in November are reminded to ask MR. Stewart if he can do an impression of Brent! He also told us he will have a minor off-screen part in the Enterprise series finale, "These Are The Voyages..." Mr. Spiner said he will be speaking four lines in the finale, which were written by himself.
In addition to his cameo in the Enterprise finale, Spiner also discussed his role on the new Brannon Braga series Treshold. Mr. Spiner revealed he will be playing a doctor, and that he will have a smaller, but recurring role.

Saturday and Sunday was also spent browsing through the dealer room, Klingon Bar (though not nearly enough!), and getting our photo shoot with Brent. He also signed my "ol Yellow Eyes is Back" CD and commented that he himself only had one copy.

I missed the costume contest, but I hear the Wraith I had my picture taken with won first prize! He had not originally planned on entering until I talked to him.

We also snagged some autographs and pictures with the other stars.

I also got the chance to display some of my props in the Prop Room.

We got tickets for Dean Haglunds comedy show at his table. This one was not to be missed! He does improv. X-Files shows at the conventions and this time Tom Braidwood and Gary Jones were onstage with time. Gary Jones originally auditioned for the role of one of the Lone Gunman.

We also attended the banquet and John Noble was at our table. Again, he was a very nice guest and talked about his early acting career and children, now grown. Julie Catlin Brown entertained us by playing her guitar and singing. The people at table night got a nice surprise. Micheal Shanks showed up and had dinner at their table. I dont' think there was much conversation though, he looked very tired and could barely keep his head up after dinner.
Veronica got her picture taken with John Noble and I managed to get one with Micheal Shanks before he was hustled off to his room for some much needed rest!

After the banquet we headed down to the bar to mingle with other fans and relax. Would have gone to the Retro Dance, but they would not let anyone in with alcohol. Even if you brought it in from the bar. This was the Hotels policy, not Vulkons, as the hotel also has a cash bar at the dance. Like they didn't make enough money from us yet! I was too exhausted to put up a fight and went to bed early.

Sunday morning I got in line for my picture with Michael Shanks! He looked much more rested and still unshaved. I will be sure to add that picture here when I get a scanner (soon). Got a scanner and here is our pictures with Micael Shanks!!

It was Stargate day for us and we were out and about in our Stargate costumes, complete with P-90's and Zats! I got my Lightspeed Zat signed by Carmen, Gary and Michael! We also found some other Stargate fans in the bar....

Michael Shanks was the main guest on Sunday. Wish I could remember everything he mentioned. His unshaved look was because he was currently filming the 9th season of Stargate. I do remember his impression of 'Puss in Boots" from Shrek 2. He did also mention some of the jokes Chris Judge plays on the set. Since Chris takes protien supplements, he more than occasionally lets go "SBDs' on the set.

This concludes my Con Report. I'll be adding more pictures when I get my new scanner! See you all in November!! Comments? Added con info? Please email me @ pickells3@adelphia.net
