Correction...

I just had a quick correction from yesterday's post. Kara told me to fix my post under the porn star section. She believes it should read 10-Second Man instead of One MinuteMan. Just wanted to get that in. Also, I have some cool Simpson's stuff. First, Eric gave me a very cool Barney Gumble link. You can get that by clicking below. Also, Kevin gave me one of my favorite tunes from the Simpson's, the Canyonerro(sp?) song, that's also below. Later guys.

    The Job Hunt Continues...

OK, so I'm out of money, and I finally need a job. I've been looking around for about 3 or 4 days now, and I finally have some options. I'll run down the list of options I have for you, but first here's the most important thing I look for in a job: To have a crew that is cool and that likes to have fun, encouraging management, and generally a fun job that pays decent. Here's my run-down of where I'm at in my job search:

  • Target: I have an interview tomorrow, and I'll probably end up doing some stocking on the floor, and helping customers out.
  • Positives: I love Target, possible discount, working for a company that really helps out the community.
  • Negatives: Retail, which means customers.
  • Estimated Pay Range: $7-$8.50/hour.
  • Probability I'll end up working at Target: 3:1.

  • Circuit City: I also have an interview with them tomorrow. Depending on how it goes, I can either do one of two things here. 1)Something similar to Target, where I will stock aisles and replenish merchandise, or 2) Be a salesman, where I will work on a low pay, but high commission, which may be good with Christmas coming around the corner.
  • Positives: Cool stuff to buy with my discount, possibly make a lot of money for Christmas time.
  • Negatives: Retail, which means customers that complain a lot, and the work crew seems to be a huge sausage fest(many more men than women).
  • Estimated Pay Range: $7.50-$8.50 if I stock, and not sure on commission rates if I end up being a salesman.
  • Probability I'll end up working at Circuit City: 2:1.

  • OfficeMax: I stopped by OfficeMax today, and I talked with my old manager, and there is a possibility I will go back to Omax. I'm not sure if I'm excited about this or not.
  • Positives: extremely slow, decent pay, know the place since I've worked there, nice managers.
  • Negatives: 9/10s of the people there are dorks, I don't like selling office supplies, not sure if I want to go back or not.
  • Estimated Pay Range: $8.00-$8.75/hour.
  • Probability I'll go back to OfficeMax: 3:1.

  • Abercrombie and Fitch: I dropped off my application on Thursday and I was told they have group interviews every couple of weeks.
  • Positives: Easy job, hot chicks, nice discount.
  • Negatives: suck pay, warned by Eric to stay away from this place. "They treat you like janitors."
  • Estimated Pay Range: $5.75-$6.00/hour.
  • Probability I'll work at Abercrombie and Fitch: 5:1.

  • Jordan's Furniture: A couple of my friends work here, and they claim that it is really cool work. I'd end up working in the warehouse, and when someone orders furniture, I put it in their car.
  • Positives: NOT retail, good pay, good friends work there.
  • Negatives: never had a job like this, so I'd be a little nervous.
  • Estimated Pay Range: $9.00-$9.50/hour.
  • Probability I'll work at Jordan's Furntiure: 4:1.

  • Porn Star: Always wanted to be in this industry. I've envisioned my breakthrough role: MinuteMan or as Tim likes to call me Two-Pump Chump. Not sure who to contact about this one though.
  • Positives: fun job, meet great people, college icon.
  • Negatives: can't think of any. Just tough to get in the biz.
  • Estimated Pay Rate: $5.00-$1000/hour, depending on how good I am.
  • Probability I'll end up being a porn star: 1000:1.

    Sexual Equality...

I was reading the school paper, The Connector, and there was a column in there this week that caught my attention. It was by Mike Reidy, and it basically said that for many years, women have been fighting to have the same rights as men. He uses examples such as the right to vote. The role of "ruthless CEO" used to be reserved for men, now women have power on the corporate ladder. Even sexual roles have changed, women are now much more assertive in relationships than they used to be. But, here's where Mike makes his point. There is one right that men have that women still not have attained. When men turn 18, he is required to register for Selective Service, which ensures that a man will fulfill his duty to his country. Mike poses the question, "Why is it that women are not more outraged over this? If women want to be considered equal to men, it has to be across the board, not selective equality..." That's the ending of his column, and for some reason I've been thinking about it today. Why is it, that in this age of equality for all, that we still find a woman's life more precious than a man's, and we can never imagine putting women in the front line. I'm not sure what I think about this, but I'm curious to see if you guys have any feelings about this issue. Also, if you want to read the article yourself, pick up The Connector if you go to Umass-Lowell. It's an interesting read.

On a totally unrelated subject, here's Kevin giving his sort of biblical take on where Pramas.com came from:

  • WrathofTheBlazer: and then there was the camel...with a shaved head he climbed the mountain........and when the camel with a shaved head came down from the mountain top......pramas.com was born....

    Ass-Man???

On the way out from the Outback the other day, Kara brought up a very disturbing subject. For some strange reason, she believes that I am obsessed with asses. She's convinced that's all I talk about... Hers, mine, Kevin's, Tim's, every girl, anybody. This accusation is ludicrous to me, but we decided we'll let the Pramas.com faithful decide. So, I pose the question, Am I obsessed with asses? You decide by voting on the poll to the right. If any of you have comments, there is a comment section in the poll after you vote. So if you caught me looking at your ass, now's your chance for the world to find out.

Also, really quickly, I just wanted to show you something I've been working on. By clicking below, you can check out my Harvard fake ID that I'm working on, it's not the smoothest around the head area, but it's close enough.
