For a drink with a rich history, try a delightful and refreshing Rodney Allen Rippy! Maybe you 're on the wagon and looking for something to replace those Long Island iced teas you used to get loaded on. Or perhaps grandma's visiting and you want to fool her into thinking you don't drink. Whatever your reason, if you're looking for a fun and flavorful non-alcoholic drink with an interesting history, you can't go wrong with a Rodney Allen Rippy! The drink comes from an episode of the 1970's sitcom Good Times, one of Kevin's favorite shows. Shortly after the death of her husband James, Florida Evans ventures to a bar called the Meeting Place with friend Willona. Willona orders her usual, a Seven and Seven, while tee-totaler Flo opts for a Rodney Allen Rippy, a drink the waitress says "will truly set you free." Kevin became obsessed with this drink recently after he saw the episode featuring it again. It overtook the lime rickey to become Kevin's favorite drink, and he keeps a constant supply of all the ingredients in his refrigerator. Give it a try, and it just might become one of your favorites, too! |
