My Tubal Reversal Story Page 10 |
We then talked with Dr. Levin for about 20 minutes. During the conversation, he mentioned that he had just finished surgery on a lady from Texas that was there by herself. We still had the flowers that work had sent me, and couldn't take them with us because they were too big, so between all of us, we decided to leave them in her hotel room for her. We later found out that she jetted home immediately following surgery, much to Dr. Levin's surprise. We were then on the road home after filling my prescriptions. We had planned on taking two days to get home, but Jon just kept on driving and we got home about 5:30am on Friday. We slept for a few hours once we got home, then went to get the kids from day care in the afternoon. We wanted to get them first thing, but knew they were having all sorts of fun activities that day at day care. So, now we are home and the healing process is still going on. I can't do a whole lot without getting tired, but I am getting better every day. The pain is really not so bad at all unless I forget to take both the Motrin and the Tylox. Even then, it is just a matter of 20 minutes and the meds kick in, and it is not bad at all. 23 June 2001 I know, I have been really bad about keeping the journal updated. I have been resting and healing, just what I was supposed to do. I am no longer on pain medicine, my incision is completely healed, and only a couple more days and I can drive - yippee! We have been carpooling back and forth to work, and it has been OK, but I end up being there an hour longer each day, and of course I feel like I should work if I am there. For the past 2 weeks, I have been doing "hot soaks" on my incision every night - this entails water as hot as you can stand it with a washcloth for 15-20 minutes. This is because the left side of my incision was being stubborn about closing, and was draining quite a bit for a while. The right side was a beautiful pink line, but the left side was pretty yucky. Dr. Levin was right, though, and the combination of hot soaks and peroxide have slowly made it heal and close. Today I took my first shower without having to tape plastic over the incision - it was great! I also started Clomid this cycle - we are on the 4th day of it so far. I have noticed some blurred vision, grumpiness, and sleepiness, as well as night sweats, but overall it is bearable - so far. We are stocked up on OPK's and pregnancy tests, so we are ready to go! T-Day finally happened - we fired Tonya last Monday. It has been overwhelming at work with finding stuff she screwed up, and fixing those things in addition to just doing the regular work. I am interviewing to get another Admin Assistant, and it can't happen soon enough for me! 13 September 2001 Too long, I know. But my heart just hasn't been in it lately. We are on our 3rd month trying to conceive, and so far it has been a bust. The first two months, I was on Clomid, then I got in to see a local RE. |
