My Tubal Reversal Story Page 11 |
I had lost feeling in my arms, hands and face on day 4 of Clomid the 2nd month! The RE did not think I should be on Clomid in the first place since I never needed it before. So, he scheduled me for a progesterone test 7 days after ovulation, which I had yesterday. Dr, Attia, the RE, said if my progesterone comes back normal then he will not put me back on Clomid, but if it comes back low then we will try a lower dosage of Clomid. The positive thing is, I did not take any Clomid this month and although it was late, I DID ovulate on my own! I am getting depressed about not being pregnant yet. Darcy announced last night that they are expecting in March, as is another girl I know. I wish them the best, although I can't help being a little jealous. 14 September 2001 My progesterone came back at 18.5, which both Dr. Attia and Dr. Levin say is PERFECT!! No more Clomid for me!!! If we are not pregnant by the end of the year, I am to have an HSG, but for now we get to go "au natural!" 24 October 2001 Don't feel too chatty right now, so I will get right to the point. Last week I saw my regular doctor because I haven't felt "right" for a long time now - tired all the time, fever, body aches, just not right. The doctor thinks I have Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, but is also testing for several other things. He also found out that I tested positive for Epstein Barr virus, otherwise known as mono, which means I either have it now or have had it in the past. Once you have mono, you always carry the virus. He also put me on thyroid medication, since my thyroid tested high, and he found a heart murmur as well. In 33 years I have never been told I had a heart murmur. I have a referral to a cardiologist to have him to an echocardiogram on my heart. One of the things they suspect is pericarditis, an infection of the lining of the heart. Coupled with my symptoms and the low grade fever dating back to December of last year. I am just ready to know what all is wrong and get on the road to getting well. Needless to say, no baby-making for a while. 3 November 2001 Well, wonder of all wonders, and what timing - Halloween night we found out that in the midst of all of this, I am pregnant! Talk about a shocker! I had a pregnancy test 2 weeks ago the day of my CT scan, and it was negative, but too early. I had already written this month off after that! I went to have my beta drawn on Friday and at 20 dpo, it was 1,610! That is on the high side for a single pregnancy, so we are a little curious about that! The doctor put me on progesterone suppositories, which I do twice a day. I about had a heart attack when they told me $150 for a 30-day supply! But, whatever it takes to have a healthy baby, I will do. The progesterone is to help ensure that I don't have a miscarriage. I am going for an ultrasound on Tuesday to make sure the little one is in the uterus, since after the tubal reversal I have a higher risk of a tubal pregnancy. |
