My Tubal Reversal Story Page 12 |
It is kind of funny how it happened Halloween night. We took the kids Trick-or-Treating for a while, then went back home. My period was due on the 23rd, so we had been thinking it was just all the stress of me being sick and not knowing yet what was wrong for sure that was causing me to be late. After we got home, Jon went to the store for bread. I am not sure what made me decide to do a pregnancy test, but I went ahead and got the cup ready and stuck the stick in it, then I went about my business of putting the kids to bed. Less than 5 minutes later, I went back in the bathroom and remembered that I had the test there. I looked down at the stick, and I saw this really DARK line where the test line was - looked exactly like a positive result should look. I looked and looked, then looked some more, then I screamed for Ari to come look at it. I asked her what she saw and she said two lines. I started crying! She kept asking me, "Is this good or bad?!?" Finally I was able to tell her it was a good thing, but with my health being questionable, I was really nervous. I didn't trust the one test, I thought sure it must be defective, so I threw 3 more in the cup, and they also turned positive very fast. I went and got 2 OPK's from the closet, since I knew they would test positive if indeed I was pregnant, and same thing...both turned positive almost immediately! By this point, I was frantic! Jon was still at the store, and I was worried about the medications I was taking, so I called Dr. Levin's emergency number and paged him. He called me back within 3 minutes! I was on the phone with Dr. Levin when Jon walked in from the store, and he couldn't figure out who I was on the phone with. It hit him when he realized there was a cup of urine full of pregnancy tests sitting in front of me! As soon as I got off of the phone, it was time to be excited that we were finally pregnant! I sent Jon to the store to get another brand of test, and I ended up doing 10 pregnancy tests that night. Based on LMP, our tentative due date is July 4, 2002, but the ultrasound may change that. As far as feeling pregnant, I definitely do now. The morning sickness struck me twice at work at the end of the week, and lunch came back to see me. I bought a couple of boxes of Saltines today, hopefully they will help. With Jacob, I was sick till the day before he was born, so let's hope it doesn't get that bad since my teeth were much worse for the wear. I had to have 9 tiny fillings after Jacob was born. My breasts are sore, and they feel full, but I know that will get worse for a few months and then it will start to get better. Guess they were wrong about Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. I go to the cardiologist soon, so I will find out if my heart is OK. I am just feeling extremely blessed that the Lord gave us this precious gift that we so desire. I want to savor each and every moment of this pregnancy, since it may be the last for me. I want to experience the morning sickness, sore breasts, yes even the moodiness. 13 November 2001 Today I am 6 weeks and 2 days pregnant, based on the ultrasound that measured me last week at 5 weeks 2 days. The wonderful news is...the baby is snug in the uterus where it belongs!! Jon and I both went for the ultrasound last week, and we were both nearly in tears when the doctor told us there was only one baby and that it was exactly where is should be! Our next ultrasound is on the 20th, and we should be able to see the heartbeat then. My estimated due date now with little Bean (Jon's nickname for the baby, he started calling it that after reading that it was the size of a bean) is June 30, 2002, but it will be about 1 1/2 - 2 weeks earlier than that since this will be another c-section. |
