My Tubal Reversal Story Page 13 |
Sometimes I still can't believe that we have been so blessed, but believe me the morning sickness and sore boobs remind me right away! 17 November 2001 Talk about a change of pace with my health! I spent the last 4 days in the hospital and just got home today! What it boils down to, is when I went to see the cardiologist, the echo showed a 2cm by 3cm mass in the right ventricle of my heart, probably endocarditis (infection) or it could be a blood clot or tumor. They did a lot of tests in the hospital and I go back to see the Infectious Disease doctor on Tuesday. What now?!? 8 December 2001 A lot has happened and I don't have a lot of time to write right now. I will try to catch up the majority of it. I have been on IV antibiotics for 2 1/2 weeks now for endocarditis. That is what they decided I have, based on all of the tests. I had a PICC line inserted in my left upper arm, it is a central venous line and the catheter goes all the way up my arm and into my chest right above my heart. When I went to my last echo on Thursday at the cardiologist's office, the mass is now gone from my heart. I had to go to the ER while we were in Iowa and Dr. Fyfe is sure that the mass broke off and went into my lung, and caused all of that pain. Hopefully what this also means is I am on the road to recovery now. So far everything is fine with Bean but I am seeing a high risk OB as well as a Maternal Fetal specialist just to make sure that none of the tests that were done while I was in the hospital caused any damage. I continue to see Dr. Allen, the Infectious Disease doctor and also go for bandage changes every week on the PICC line. The site is infected and very painful, but hopefully I only have another week and a half of it left. If Dr. Allen decides to keep it in for 6 weeks rather than 4, he did say we may have to move it to the other arm if it doesn't get better. Thank God everything is looking up! I am 10 weeks and 1 day pregnant and already getting a baby belly! I am so very thankful and excited about Bean. God is GREAT! 28 December 2001 Today I am 13 weeks and 5 days pregnant, and I only have 2 more days of progesterone suppositories left - whee! Also, I am getting the PICC line out on the 2nd of January - ended up having to have it 6 weeks. I now only have to go back to the cardiologist every 3 months instead of every 2 weeks!! Everything is fine with me and Bean. I got the lecture from Dr. Allen's nurse yesterday as well as from Jon about not eating enough, since I have continued to lose weight since I got pregnant. I am eating, just really don't have much of an appetite lately. Some days I am hungry but most days nothing sounds good. 18 January 2002 We had our 16 week ultrasound yesterday and the official word is that everything looks great! They tested all the markers for birth defects and Down's Syndrome, and Bean looks perfect! |
