My Tubal Reversal Story Page 14 |
We got a picture, but it is hard to tell what's what on ultrasound pictures. The other good news is the morning sickness is pretty much over, that is a gift from God! I also got the PICC line out on the 2nd of January and don't have to go back to the cardiologist until March! So, the endocarditis is gone! I have to have antibiotics any time I have any procedure or go to the dentist, but that is OK. I was sure glad to get the PICC out, it was itching and gave me a nice red rash to boot! We have picked out baby names. Jon got to choose the boy name - it was between Aidan and Samuel. He chose Samuel. I got to choose the girl's name - I chose Kathryn over Molly. So, we will either have a Kathryn Anne or a Samuel Ronald in about 5 months. We have gotten all of the baby supplies except for the stroller and nursing bras. We actually got an excellent deal on the crib - we got it for 75% off, which made it $74.99! It is such a beautiful crib, too! We set it up along with the crib bedding and it looks so bright and colorful! Bean has been moving in the past week or so, enough to where it is a little uncomfortable. If I drink orange juice, I get plenty of kicks and punches in the bladder. There's no denying that my baby belly is getting bigger, either. It still never fails to amaze me that there is a living person inside me! Such a strange and wonderful feeling, especially after years of thinking I would never feel this again. I cherish each day of this pregnancy, as I will surely cherish this baby being a part of our world. 31 January 2002 I had my regular check up last week, and Bean is just growing away! My uterus is up to right above my belly button, and Bean is very active lately! Still loves to jab the bladder, must be his/her favorite toy! We bought a Bebe Sounds prenatal heart listener, which is supposed to let us listen to the baby's heartbeat after 20 weeks, so soon we will be able to hear it at home. Today I am 18 weeks and 4 days pregnant and feeling pretty good. I have still lost weight, 11 pounds now, so I have to concentrate more on eating. We have another ultrasound on Valentines day, and we may be able to tell the sex then. Also, I got my AFP test results back and they were normal. I am so very excited that in a few short months we will get to meet this little miracle face-to-face! 18 February 2002 21 weeks 1 day Well, Valentines Day was a wonderful day, with wonderful news! Baby Bean is a girl! The ultrasound tech, Julian, checked the sex right away, and it was a good thing he did because she never would open her legs after the first time he looked! She was sitting Indian style on my bladder the whole time after that! She is breech, which is not a surprise, but since this will be another c-section it really does not matter. Plus, she has time to turn around and around for another 10 weeks. She weighed 12 ounces on Valentines Day - a can of Coke! We bought a coming home from the hospital outfit this weekend - just a pink Precious Moments baby gown with little pictures on it, with matching booties. Jon also picked out some baby mittens shaped like boxing gloves in pink satin that say "I am a knockout" on them - too cute! I am working on one pink blanket, and we bought her one other pink sleeper, but I don't want to go overboard in case they were wrong about the sex! Terrie e-mailed me to tell me she has 5-6 bags of baby and toddler clothes from her grandkids that she is going to bring over this weekend, praise the Lord! She said they are in great condition, so that is wonderful! |
