My Tubal Reversal Story Page 22 |
6 May 2002 32 Weeks 1 Day Whew, I am sitting here feeling like I partied all weekend! Man, do I feel OLD! Saturday, we had the birthday for Taylor and Travis to go to, and they had a roller skating party like last year. It was a lot of fun to watch all of the kids having such a good time, and I wish I could have skated, but man, my butt bones still hurt from sitting on that stainless steel seat for 2 hours - LOL! About an hour into the party, Michelle got me a comforter from her car to sit on, and that helped, but the old butt is still sore! Yesterday was the day of my baby shower that Jackie threw for us. I have known Jackie for years, and she is Alexa's Godmother. I am still just in shock over what a wonderful and special time we all had at the shower yesterday! I do not know that many people, so I really did not expect such a turnout, but let me tell you, there were a lot of wonderful people there and it was a great deal of fun! I have to thank Terrie for surprising me with gifts from some of the ladies in the support group, that was a very special and awesome surprise! Now, Terrie bordered on being in trouble! If I didn't love the swing that she got for Baby Bean so much, I would have had to fuss at her for spending so much money! She and her husband Rafael got us the exact swing that Jon and I had been wanting since we saw it in the Toys R Us in Louisville the day before my reversal! Even down to the pattern and color of the seat! How is that for being right on?!?! It is a cradle swing, and it swings both front to back, and side to side. The ladies at the shower played some pretty funny games! Oh, I was wishing that I would have thought to take the video camera, they were all so comical! In the one game, I took 10 jars of baby food, took off the labels, and numbered the jars. They were each passed around to each person, and they could smell or taste each jar. Now, I wasn't sure about the tasting, I didn't know how many people would get into the spirit of that, but let me tell you, each of those ladies had their little plastic spoons, and every one of them tasted each of the jars of baby food!!! Oh, the comments! I remember Shelley, our receptionist, referring to the Macaroni and Cheese Dinner as "tasting like glue" and Terrie having to have seconds of the Dutch Apple Dessert! It was very interesting to sit there and see what everyone's guesses were, since I knew what the answers were! Now, I think the most fun game that I watched them play was the one I set up. I had seen it on A Baby Story, and knew when I saw it that we had to have that game at my shower! I took 10 diapers, and in each one I put a different edible substance in the middle, right where a good old poopy diaper would have it! The rules were, the ladies could smell or taste these as well, since everything was edible. Oh man, watching them all smell and taste the diapers was hilarious! |
