Wow, time flies! Katie is now a little over 4 months old! She went for her 4 month checkup on the 22nd, and all in all, things are looking well. What they told us:
1) We have to buy her some high top shoes because her feet are turning out like a duck (note - we bought them and she doesn't seem to mind them so far).
2) She is in NO danger of being malnourished - she is a big baby! The doctor even told Jon that she is getting all of the nutrition she needs from the breast milk and that we can start watering down her formula if we want to. He also said not to start her on cereal or any solid foods yet - she doesn't need them.
3) She has a slightly flat head, so we now have "head exercises" that we have to do with her every day. This does not sound fun. The doctor showed Jon two spots on her head where we have to apply the pressure of the weight of her head, until it gets soft (uh, excuse me?!?!). He also said she will not like it and probably cry - oh boy, can't wait! NOT!
4) She got 4 shots including the Prevnar (ear infection) shot and will be able to get a flu shot in addition to the regular ones at her next visit at 6 months.
5) She weighed in at 16 pounds 8 ounces and is about 23 inches long!

Katie rolled over last week! She is such a happy baby! She is getting so big, so many clothes are too small on her already and brand new.

Man, talk about dropping the ball! I just have not updated this thing in forever! Katie is now 7 1/2 months old, and boy have we been having a time! She had her first ear infection at 1 week 6 days, and has had nothing but trouble since then. Yesterday, day care called to tell me she was running a fever again, and after 3 1/2 hours in the doctor's office, Dr. Thad said both of her ears are horribly infected again or still, she has only been off of the prophalactic antibiotics since January 15th! So, the next step is tubes. She sees Dr. Wyatt, an otolaryngologyst, on the 24th of February.
She rolls all over the place now, said Baba as her first word, sits up, says Baba, Dada, and Mama. She is getting more hair now as well! Last night she weighed in at 20 pounds as well!
