My Tubal Reversal Story
Page 4
Jon says I am someone who feels like they need to be "doing" something about things, being pro-active.  He is right, I suppose.  I just hate "sitting and waiting."  He suggested that I work on a baby blanket to feel a little more productive - the thing is nearly done and I started on it last week!  The way things are going, this baby will have lots of blankets!  The blanket I am working on is crocheted, not cross stitched, so I may go ahead and start a cross stitch one.  They take a whole lot longer!  The one I did for Jacob took a year to finish, and the one I did for Jenifer took a good 6 months, and that was working on it night and day!  I have all of the thread, so maybe next payday I will invest in a blanket.

I have been looking a lot online about tubal reversals, and I try to take it all in stride.  There are mostly stories about post-reversal women who either have trouble conceiving or have miscarriages.  It bummed me out, but then Jon said something that made sense - the women who were successful in conceiving and giving birth don't have as much time to post their stories on the Internet as the women who are still trying.  They have new babies to take care of!  That made me feel better.

20 April 2001

Wow, has it been 2 months since I last wrote?!?!  How did that happen?  As far as I am concerned, the days have been absolutely crawling by, so to think that it has been 2 months just boggles my mind.  An update is certainly in order!  About a month ago, Jon's parents lent us the remaining $1,850 to pay off the surgery so that we could go ahead and schedule our date, and pay them back just as we have been paying the doctor.  The amazing coincidence was, Michelle offered to lend us the money from her tax return the very same day!  We are so blessed, I keep thanking God all of the time!

So, are you curious??  Drumroll please.........

OUR SURGERY DATE IS MONDAY, JUNE 4TH, 2001!!!!!!

Yep, it is officially ours, and no one can take it away!  As of today, we have 43 days left...that is, until we leave for the surgery.  We leave on the morning of June 2nd and we should be able to make it in about a day and a half to Louisville.  Have I been busy planning and doing?  You bet!  I have made up information sheets for everyone for while we are away, packed some stuff, made list after list of stuff to pack for us as well as the kids.  I am excited and scared all at the same time!  Venica from Dr. Levin's office called me last week to tell me that she had sent my hospital admission papers, but by Wednesday of this week I still had not received them.  I called to let her know, and lo and behold, they had my address wrong!  She said thank goodness I called!  She told me she would mail them to the correct address so I should get them soon.  I have made reservations at the Inn at Jewish Hospital, the hotel where we will check in, and also where we will be released to the day following surgery for the next 2 days.

I thought that once I had the surgery scheduled, the days would fly by.  That is not the case.  In some respects they do, but some days (like today) seem to drag on forever.  Weekends are the worst, especially with trying to be frugal with our money.  Not spending money means finding something free yet interesting to do!  Usually it means giving in to spending a little money and renting some movies, or this weekend we are having a barbecue at Jeff's on Saturday.
