This is where I write news about Michael.  

Michael came home for his first half term holiday, which just flew by.  One moment we were picking him up from the airport, then whoosh... he was gone.  He had a great time whist he was here though - doing a lot of "chilling" with his mates.  I can't understand how I managed to spend so much money on him in such a short time though!  I'd begun to forget just how much teenagers cost!!

He had his first school report, which was FANTASTIC.  We are SO proud of him.  This is the first time ever that he has had a report without "Michael could do a lot better", "Michael needs to concentrate more", and "Michael's head is up his bottom".... or words to that effect anyway.  He's never achieved more than a 'good' in anything before, so to have a page full of 'excellents' is really quite astounding for us.  Well done sweetheart and keep up the good work.

Trying to get information out of him about what he was up to at school was like getting blood out of a stone, but he's joined the army cadets and is signing up for the Duke of Edinburgh award scheme, so that should keep him busy and out of mischief.  He settled in so well, and has made lots of nice new friends, but unfortunately he's been a bit down in the dumps since he went back to school.  It was inevitable really that it was going to hit him at some stage, but he's quite cheered up by the fact that I am flying back to take him out of school for his long weekend at the end of the month, which means of course I'll have to spoil him rotten - more expense!  Who'd have kids eh....
