February 27th Club Denim Mudvayne

So we find our way to Club Denim in Guelph, Not too far from my house. There is a line-up outside as usual. Again we get stuck around fans that apparently don’t listen to the band they are about to see! I wont even get into it, because it annoys Rob, and me too. So anyway, there’s like a 40-year-old guy behind us in line, I’m not too sure he knew what he was about to see but oh well. It was a freezing cold day, but it didn’t matter because Mudvayne was waiting for us inside. We get in, and the place is so small, we walked right up to the front, because all the lamer's didn’t know what to do. There was no one by the barrier, so we just talked to the security guards there for a while, they were cool, and they gave us some water! So opening for mudvayne is ‘Three days grace’ Personally I don’t know how they got that gig, but live they didn’t do so well, Especially because every single song started the same, and had the same drumming and riffs. But that’s just my opinion.

after the sound check, and the dirty set-up crew organizer had finished yelling at some fans, the lights dimmed. The fake smoke filled the room, the lights kicked in and Mudvayne came out, right in front of us, opening the gig with ‘End of All Things To Come’. Instantly Rob and I were crushed, but we couldn’t feel it because of the excitement. Kud would reach down every once and a while to slap everyone’s hands including ours. They put on a great show; Kud had a smile on his face the whole time, and they just looked like they were having so much fun! They weren’t wearing any costume or grease paint. So they played songs like –1, World so cold, Dig, ALL of it was amazing.

So the show ended, and it totally kicked our ass, Everyone cleared out which was weird, so we stuck around, we were walking around and Rob says “holy shit there he is” and next thing I know rob walks over to the stairs where Kud was standing, NO ONE was around at the time remember. So rob says “Hey Chad your fucking amazing” and next thing we know, he is there talking to us. A few other fans came over and Kud said he didn’t want a big crowed of people, so some fans said okay, sit here and we’ll shield you, Rob and I asked if we could have our picture taken with him, he said sure. We sit beside him and another fan takes the camera and CLICK...No flash!!! The small crowed sighed in disappointment. Kud took the camera, and winded it up, held the flash button, and gave it back to the fan, this time the flash worked. He took Robs album booklet from L.D 50 and drew a bullet hole with blood on the picture of him and then signed it. I was so stunned I forgot to give him my ticket to sign, but that’s okay it was my second time meeting him and I already had his autograph from Ozzfest 2001. So on that note, we got up, let Kud chill with the other fans, and we took off. fuckin running down the road screaming. Yet another amazing concert for us. That’s all I got on this show.
