May 10th The Haunted played club rockit Toronto.

We got to club rockit early, the doors were supposed to open at 8:30, so we got there at 7:00. There was already a small line-up for the show. Marco and some of the members came out and went to McDonalds, There was a fan, who was like a friggen mole, every time he saw a member from the band he would run over to them with a pen and get their autographs, however a few times they turned him down, you could tell they weren’t in the mood to be bothered, I think something was up, I don’t think set-up and sound check was going to smooth. We didn’t bother them, because they looked pissed off already but easily we could have gotten autographs and whatnot.
so we just stood there and waited, 8:30 rolled around, the doors were still not open. 9:15 comes and finally they let us in, and good thing they did, because Rob was on the verge of killing a fan, for saying “Mudvaynes drumming is easy.” Just to clear this up, that’s bullshit; Spag is faster than fast and talented. Why is it there are so many stupid annoying fans? Rob will strangle one some day I believe!
we got in and Rob was on the balcony and I was on the floor watching a band called “Endorphins” A local band, from Mississauga. Not really my type of band but everyone has to start somewhere. The next band up was “Darkest Hour” For a good portion of us standing in line, I didn’t realize that they were standing in front of me and rob talking about the guest list, let me tell you this, the singer, does not look like he could scream, oh but he can! So Darkest hour was playing and now I was up on the balcony with Rob. By the end of Darkest Hour’s set, the guy had climbed the balcony, jumped off, climbed on some crossbar over the crowed and done a few other crazy things. Again not my genre, But they were fun to watch.
Shai Hulud came out next. He also was walking around outside while we were inline, we knew who he was, but it seemed no one else did. When Shai Hulud started playing, the singer clearly went insane! He was jumping, moshing, and at one point threw the mic into the crowed and let them sing. The last song he jumped into the crowed and pushed about 40 people all the way to the back and the place turned into a massive moshpit! I did like Shai Hulud, because of the power and emotion that went into the music, the singer was amazing, it seemed every song meant something very emotional to him.

The Haunted were up next! Shortly after a quick sound-check they came out and opened with a shorter version of “Privation Of Faith inc.” Marco welcomed us and they went on to play one hell of a powerful show. A few of the songs that stick out the most are D.O.A, SHITHEAD, One Kill Wonder and Downward Spiral. But again why is it that some fans are dumbasses? One fan decides to dump a picture of water on Jensen! Preventing him from playing for about a minute, Ruining his guitar and Jensen was obviously pissed off, and he made that clear. After the song Marco said over the mic “We don’t appreciate people throwing water on us, that guitar now is probably ruined, okay so don’t do stupid shit like that, we are here to have good violent fun.” throughout the night he mentioned that a few times! Stupid fans use your brains. We all do stupid things, but if you’re stupid enough to do that, you deserve an ass kicking.
Besides some of the down points to the night, the concert was by far amazing, it rocked, it was powerful and full of adrenaline. That’s all I’ve got on this review!
