In Flames, Soilwork, Chimaira Guvernment

This concert is amazing to write about, the beginning to the end. It all started with myself, going to London, to meet up with 6(rob)6. I got lost in London for at least an hour, even though I had driven there before, somehow I forgot about a turn. So I finally show up, and 6(rob)6 comes out to greet me, and immediately he hopes in the car and we’re ready to go to meet up with his friends who are also coming to the concert with us. I met Matt, Andy, Brian, Derek, Graham, Jordan; each one of these individuals is fucked in their own way. We head out to a restraunt called The Mongolian grill, let me tell you, it’s fucking awesome, you can eat anything you want it’s mad awesome. We drove back to Brian’s house and our Limo was awaiting us! Somehow all of us crammed in the limo, with a shit load of liquor and food and we were on our way to In Flames! The drinking had started ahead of time at the restraunt 6(rob)6 and I were sober, we like to avoid the, you know, puking and forgetting half the concert! Anyway, so all the drinking gathered up in our friend’s bladders, Hoy however couldn’t wait, and decides to piss in a beer bottle, he tried the can and that just didn’t work, so his second attempt at pissing in the bottle and he’s more successful! Accept this time, his arm swings back and splashes Brian In the face, with Hoy’s piss! I personally almost pissed my pants with laughter; it was one of the most amazing things I’ve witnessed! So no one can really hold their piss any longer, accept Hoy, We tell the Limo driver to pull over, off the side of the 401, in a line, there’s 6 people pissing, there’s a black dude in a car in a parking lot about 100 feet away, clapping his hands, honking his horn and yelling, laughing and giving everyone the thumbs up, he was fucked, probably thought we were someone famous! We get back on the road and pulled over to the next service station, where no one uses the bathrooms inside, no that would be too complicated, so everyone goes in the bush right outside the entrance doors, and Brian gets even with Hoy, and pisses on his leg! So after a few more miles on the road, and a few more beer bottles went out of the window on the highway, we finally got to the guvernment!

There was a mad huge line-up because we were a little behind on the time, but that’s okay, we missed the opening band, witch I will not comment on! The next band to come out was Soilwork! Soilwork played a short, but powerful set that I would say a majority of the crowed came to see just them! Soilwork was using Chimaira’s drum set for some strange reason, maybe for faster set-up. After Soilwork, Chimaria came out on stage, it was an absolute kick in the face!!! I loved every second of Chimaira, they are one of the major reasons I went, I’ve been listening to Chimaira for 3 or more years, and let me say their new album, makes me go insane every time I hear it! When Chimaira played Pure hatred, the crowed, and myself went absolutely berserk! I stayed in the pit for 99% of the concert, until 6(rob)6 pulled me out; apparently I looked like I was going to die! Another song they played that got me going was Power Trip! Amazing, as the band was coming off stage, I met all of them accept the singer Mark, damit! I can’t say more about it because this would turn into a book.

It didn’t take In Flames too long to come out on stage! But when they did, it was nothing but screaming, Anders picks up the microphone and says “Hi, My name is Anders, and I play for a band In Flames, This is Peter, on my left is Jesper and Bjorn, and everyone say HI to Daniel!!!” Then they started; they played a 1 ¾ set! Fuckin pure brutality in the mosh pit, I could see all our friends going insane, Lord Hypnos, Pinball Map, Scorn, Free fall, all the good shit, The show was amazing, We couldn’t have asked for more! Each one of us were completely drained by the end of the show, it was a knockout! In Flames played their best show in Toronto 2003 for sure! Anyway we piled back into the Limo I’m pretty sure each one of us fell asleep in the limo at some point or another! We all had a fuckin amazing night, that’s all I got on this one! Until the next concert that is!
