What is Power Metal?

Power metal has the following characteristics.  These are not "rules" nor are they set in stone.  There are exceptions to every rule.

1.  Soaring clear melodic vocals.

2.  Thundering double drum kicks

3.  Melodic fast lead guitar.

4.  Must have at least one song about "kings" (haha)

5.  Song tempo is faster than traditional metal                but not as fast as death/thrash/black metal.

What does it sound like?

Have a listen for yourself.  I'm going to put a few mp3's up but if you don't have the track you have to delete it within 24 hours.  These take an age to put up 'cos of my modem so I'm only going to put one on at a time.

Who are Rage?

Rage are a band that have been going for 15 years.  Their songs consist of motly what has been outlined above except in their latest songs they have taken to playing with a 30-piece orchestra behind their backs.  Nice.
