“Best Of The H.M.D.” 2002 list

This is the actual finished list and was emailed worldwide to various destinations on Jan 6th, 2003. Sonny Thomas

Well, at long last, here are the Nominations for the “Best Of The H.M.D.” for 2002! This is the first time I’ve really covered this much detail! Whew!! 2002 will have some great memories for me. That’s for sure! I’ve seen well over 35 different bands this year alone. And what a journey it has been. I went to several cities this year on my on little “new music tour”, so to speak. I went to cities I’ve never seen before for the sole purpose of searching for new music. Like Cleveland, Pittsburgh, and even Richmond, KY to name a few. I was looking forward to a NYC gig but it never came to pass. But may come to fruition in the future!

Now down to the real deal. I have seen so much talent this year; I had to break it down to as many categories as possible to give as many people credit as I could. This was one of the hardest decisions I had to make in my life! So much talent and musicianship that was hard not to notice. I had to keep most of the categories down to a minimum as possible. I’m sure I’ll get some “hate mail” for some of these, especially those who may not have been included, but I’m trying to be as fair as possible. What would you do in my shoes? Eh? So here’s my feeble attempt to best give these wonderful and talented individuals their props.
