“Best Of The H.M.D.” 2003
This is the actual finished list and was emailed worldwide
to various destinations on March 22, 2004. Sonny Thomas
Well, at long last, here are the Nominations for the “Best Of The H.M.D.” for 2003! I've even covered more detail than I did last year for the 2002 list! 2003 will go down in my book as one of the most interesting, yet bizarre years on TheHMD.com. I went to more cities this year on my on little “New Music Tour” that never seems to end. More midwestern cities and a couple on the east coast such as Baltimore and Richmond, VA. 2004 has already taken me to Europe and a few more cities to come before the year is out.
Now down to the real deal at hand. 2003 was no exception in the way of killer showmanship and raw talent! How I wish my label was already founded! My "All Originals" music showcases debuted at McGuffy's in Dayton in October and had terrific results. As well as the show at Rusher's in Springboro, Oh. The videos that were produced from those shows have caused quite a stir in some communities. With 3 cable access channels already clammering for a new show on a regular basis and 3 more channels by the end of Spring, things are really looking good for us here at TheHMD.com.
This year was a little different for a few reasons. Due to the overwhelming amount of music, I had to make sure that I could fit as many artists on the Singles Track list as to accomodate the flux of new tunes. Many from unsigned artists as well as a few commercial ones that deserve their respect as well. There's also a few new categories: Best LIVE Album; Best Rhythm Guitarist; Best Acoustic Guitarist and Best New Age/Celtic/Folk. Again, I thank everyone who have made a contribution to the society of music.
