Mini-revelations

There is so much to say, and so much work to be done, and so little time to do it! But if G'd wants, a minute amount of oil can increase unboundingly, as by Elisha, or one day's oil can burn for eight days, as in the miracle of Chanukah. So may G'd help, the little true words I put online may kindle the spark that is in every Jew who reads this.

The Giving of the Torah
600,000 male witnesses, besides women and children, attested to it; and saw to pass that vital knowledge from one generation to another, until this very day. Much has been written about the plaudibility of the tenents of Jewish belief-even on the web you can find good material if you look hard. There are even better books about this in English, many that have been written in the last thirty years, and are excellent. I come here only to contribute my part, true stories that reinforce that basic belief. I only take from very reliable sources that I have read or some even heard, received from previous generations.

Thunder and lightning

About many big Rebbes it is told that when they read in the Torah on Shavuot (the holiday of the giving of the Torah), there was thunder and lightning, just like it is written but on a smaller scale, and the ten commandments were literally heard from a heavenly voice. I have read this about the Baal Shem Tov and the Chozeh from Lublin and the Divrei Chaim from Tzanz, at least. Less dramatic but interesting, by the Tzaddik Rebbe Henich Elesker, any sick person who stood close to him when he read that portion on Shavuos, immediately was healed, just as it was when the Torah was given.Rebbe Reb Mailich (Elimelech) of Lizensk, said that not only did he remember the giving of the Torah, he even remembered who was standing next to him!

Every Jewish soul was there, whether in a body at that time or not, and also the converts who were later (or are still) to convert.

Home, sweet home
