The History of the Famous Party!!!

As you can see from this candid photo of one of our early parties (circa 1989) we needed to do something else...and in a hurry!

We owe many many hours of party fun and lots of other fun times to the late Scott Claycamp. All of his friends and acquaintances have fond memories of his beer shotgunning skills, ability to liven up any social gathering, and his incredible knack for getting in trouble with girls, especially the ones who found out about each other.

Rob and Scott started the party when they were rooming together back in the very early 90's. Scott's energy and enthusiasm and love of a good party was the driving force behind the party. Every year the decorations got wilder and the party got bigger and bigger. It changed locations several times due to the transient nature of the boys, and finally ended up in its current location when Rob bought a house in 1995.

When Scott was taken from us in 1996, Rob and Scott's brother Greg decided to continue the tradition of great Halloween parties partly to keep the good times going and partly in honor of the memory of Scott the undisputed King of Party Creativity. Koop moved back from Texas in 1996 and I have leant my somewhat uncreative decorating repertoire, but excellent beer brewing skills to the task of party fun making.

Rob, Greg, and Greg's wife Linda have worked hard over the year's in keeping the party lively, fresh, and fun. They supply most of the work and creativity on the decorations which take several full days to now put up, and it keeps on getting bigger every year. 1997's party was highlighted by several people actually getting tatoo's, many people opting for the Mickey's WASP tatoo, in reverance to Scott. In 1999, we had actual Tarot Card readers present, and every year has a new surprise in store. Thankfully, the party has survived and continues to be the best time this side of a screening of "Showgirls". Old friends and new friends find it a great place to meet and stay in touch. I hope you all come and have a great time every year.
