Kevin at Radio/Century 106

Profile: Kevin Fernihough: Born on 13th November 1960, a Scorpio, Kevin has been working in pro-radio since 1982.  He started at BBC Radio Derby working with Terry Christian on the station's award winning show 'Barbed Wireless'.  Terry took some leave, and Kevin was given the job of filling in - hence his big break.  In 1985, he took on his first full time post at BBC Radio Cumbria, however, in 1989, he returned to his home town of Stoke On Trent, presenting for local commercial radio station Signal Radio.

Another change took place in 1997 when he was invited by Ken Warburton, to work at Radio 106FM, the first East Midlands regional radio station, run by ex-Midlands Radio boss Ron Coles.  (The station was latterly rebranded as Century 106, and then as 106 Century FM when mother group Border Radio Holdings was acquired by Capital Radio plc.).   Kevin first re-appeared to the East Midlands masses at the launch of Radio 106FM across Derbyshire, Leicestershire & Nottinghamshire presenting the morning show 10:00am-1:00pm following Dickie Dodd's Breakfast Show.  Kevin announced his show as featuring local interviews and interesting items of information.  Following a period of two years at the station, he moved back to presenting for a brief time at BBC Radio Stoke and then the Afternoon Show on BBC Radio Cumbria for a further 18 months during 2000 and 2001.

Amongst his likes and dislikes, he likes 'pay-day', hates Monday mornings, and he has a birth mark in a rather interesting place!

Whereabouts: Kevin now presents the weekday 'issues-based' 9:00am-Noon slot on BBC Radio Stoke (FM 94.6, 104.1 & 1503 AM).
