Profile: Mark Burrows: Derbyshire born and bred, 'Buzzy' as he's known to his friends, cut his teeth for radio whilst working at Derby's hospital radio station, Radio Link, working alongside future colleagues, Dick Stone, Gary Burton, Adrian Eyre, Colin Woolley & James Daniels - all of whom would go on to work at Radio Trent from 1987-8 onwards.  Mark also featured on GEM-AM, presenting overnight programming as well as daytime shows.

GWR's takeover of Midlands Radio plc (the former owners of Trent & GEM), in the early nineties saw a mass exodus of most of the old Trent/GEM jocks to all points of the compass.  However, Mark's radio career has kept him quite close to home, working for Lincs FM's radio stations - more recently he's been sited at Forever Broadcasting's Peak 107 in Chesterfield, Derbyshire, where he presented the Breakfast Show.

Outside of radio, Mark has appeared on television - dead!  Filming for an episode of BBC1's 'Casualty' took two hours - Mark had a sudden bout of sneezing whilst laying flat out - being dead!  He is a keen hiker and enjoys walking in the Derbyshire Peak District, and has been on-safari in Kenya, around the foothills of Mount Kilamanjaro.  Amongst his favourite artists are Fleetwood Mac & Sting.

Mark is known to have a radio namesake who works for Manx Radio - if you've visited for the Manx Mark, sorry, this is the other one!

Whereabouts: Under the stewardship of ex-Trent boss, Ron Coles, Mark makes a welcome return to Midlands Radio, along with a lot of his old Trent chums, on 'The Midnight Collection' for SAGA 106.6 FM, Midnight until 2:00am across Derbyshire, Nottinghamshire, Leicestershire & Lincolnshire, from launch on February 11th 2003.
