Hello. Once again I will say that I do not own any of
the Tenchi Muyo characters and am in no way making
money off of this. I'm doing this for the shear joy
of writing about my favorite characters.
I would also like to thank everyone
for reading my
fan fiction and e-mailing me to tell me you like the
story. If it wasn't for the people replying to my
story I might have just ended up not finishing the
story. Anyway, I'll stop boring you now and let you
get to the story. I also would like to say that I
keep an eye out for any e-mails from anyone. My

"When Worlds Collide -Chapter 9- No Need for Extremes

Everyone watched as Damen continued to power up.
Energy was coursing over
his body still and his eye's
disappeared into whiteness from the flow of energy
through his veins. Brian continued to watch his
adversary. His power was above his, but hopefully his
friends would be able to help out. He had enough time
watching Damen that he noticed that the others have
already taken care of Lazarus.
	Finally Damen's power level stopped
rising and it
seemed that his power level was at a dangerous level
above Brian's. Suddenly Damen disappeared and
reappeared in front of Brian faster than he expected
and kicked him violently in the face. Brian saw spots
from the kick to his face as he was falling from the
altitude he was at. Damen disappeared again and
reappeared in front of Brian's decent angle. Damen
connected a flying roundhouse to his opponent sending
him in another direction.
The others were watching Damen disappear and reappear
in different spots making it look like a pinball game,
with Brian as the ball. After what seemed like an
eternity of being kicked around like a rag doll, Damen
sent Brian into the ground. Brian's impact made a
large crater, but he didn't look that bad.
	Everyone could feel Damen's
power in the air, it felt
so dark, it seemed to be maddening. Neither one of
them had any confidence that they would be able to
help their friend in any way. But it sure wasn't
going to stop them from trying.
Ayeka started to try to unlock her full
Jurian power.
Her tiara started to glow a bright white light, which
seemed to cause her hair to gently flap in a wind of
power that was originating from within her.
	Ryoko, on the other hand,
didn't have to unlock any
power. She teleported from sight and reappeared in
some trees that was below Damen. She wanted to wait
for the right time to attack him, hoping that the
moment would soon present itself. Her instincts were
telling her to charge at him screaming, but she knew
that attacking him head on would only be suicide. And
she would do no one any good by getting killed, before
being able to put up a fight.
Tenchi watched wanting to help his friend
who had
done so much for their large family they had
accumulated over the first months of Ryoko's
resurrection. However, he still wasn't able to
understand how to summon the Light Hawk Wings, that
well. During the few month's of training to summon
them, they appeared, but he couldn't seem to hold them
in place for more than a moment.
Washu wasn't enjoying the site of the
man who
appeared and had done so much for her and her
daughter, being beaten into the Earth. She could try
taking a shot at him, but knew he would only see it
coming and dodge it easily and then he'd just kill
her.
Katsuhito watched the battle unfold in front of him,
powerless to help his friend in any way. He could
feel Damen's power dwarf Brian's and knew he wouldn't
be able to stop him without some type of
reinforcements. He was coming up with an idea on how
to help him, but it would be a costly move. But if he
didn't do it everyone would be killed and maybe the
planet he was born on would be destroyed as well. So
he finally decided to try it.

"Washu."

Hearing her name snapped her back to her surroundings
and she looked at Katsuhito.

"I need you to get Ryoko over here. I have
an idea
that could help Brian. And my plan requires her."

"Alright."

As Washu was looking in the direction where Ryoko
teleported to and called her daughter using their
link, Ayeka was gathering up her power to unleash it
as one powerful blast.

"Tenchi, I need you too stand over here. If I
attack
him and it doesn't kill him, I'll need you to help
protect me. Because after this I will be weakened and
won't be able to defend myself."

"Don't worry Ayeka, I won't let anything
happen to
you." Tenchi reassured her.

Even though she would have a chance of dying
in a few
moments, she couldn't help but feel warm inside with
Tenchi's response. As Ayeka and Tenchi were preparing
to make their presence known to Damen, Washu
communicated to Ryoko.

Suddenly Ryoko appeared in front of Washu. "What
is
it Washu?"

"Actually I was the one who needed to speak with you
Ryoko." Katsuhito spoke up.

"If it's something important tell me what it is, if
not I need to go help Brian."

"Actually I have a plan on how we can help him."

"Well what is it?!" Ryoko asked, showing that she was
anxious to help her friend.

"The plan is that I give you back all three
of the
gems."

Washu's face turned to shock. "But Katsuhito, if you
give her back all the gems, the results could be
unpredictable."

Katsuhito sighed. He hoped Washu wouldn't have
figured out why he didn't give Ryoko back all the
gems. It would have made this easier to do.

"But I guess you already
know what the result could
be, don't you?" She asked.

"There is a possibility that I would perish from old
age."

"What?!" Ryoko exclaimed.

"The gems have been feeding Funaho power and that is
what has kept Katsuhito alive all this time." The
red-haired scientist explained.

"Well forget that idea! There could be another..."

"There is no other way Ryoko! You and I both know
this. So please do this."

Ryoko looked at Katsuhito. She could tell from the
look in his eyes that he was serious about going
through with this and wouldn't change his mind.

"Alright, I'll go through
with the plan."

"If anything happens to me tell Tenchi to keep
training and one day he will become a better swordsman
than me. And tell Noboyuki that I am proud to have
him as my son-in-law and I will give his wife his
love. Also tell everyone that I will watch over them
whenever they need me and I will protect them." He
asked Ryoko.

"I will."

"Very well then. Are you ready?"

Ryoko nods her head.

Katsuhito brings the Tenchi-ken up too level with his
chest and begins to pray that Ryoko gets all three of
the gems. Ryoko extends her hands out in front of her
and begins to pray for her to receive them. One of
the gems on the sword hilt disappears and appears on
Ryoko's left wrist. Followed by the last one in the
hilt appears on Ryoko's neck.
Ryoko brings her hands down and reopens her eyes. It
had been a long time since she last felt the full
power of all three gems running through her again.
She looked at Katsuhito
to see if anything was
happening too him, she prayed that nothing would
happen to him. She looked at Katsuhito as a father,
even though he was the one who imprisoned her in the
cave for all those years. She had forgiven him for
what he did; after all if it weren't for him she
wouldn't have met Tenchi.
Katsuhito could feel that there was no more
power
being fed into Funaho. He had though about what would
happen without the gems for some time, but he was
finally going to get the answer. He began to feel a
little weak, he could feel his young skin he kept
hidden from everyone with his projection, growing
older. It was as he had feared, he was beginning to
age rapidly. He sat down on the ground, knowing that
if he didn't he would eventually fall to the ground.
Seeing Katsuhito seating
himself down on the dirt, got
Washu and Ryoko, both worried and kneeled down beside
him.

"Katsuhito are you alright?" Ryoko asked worriedly.

"It was as I feared, I am beginning to age without the
gems. I'm afraid I won't last much longer."

"No. You cannot die. Here take one of the gems back,
I can beat him with two." Ryoko said trying to hold
back tears, while trying to get Katsuhito to grasp the
sword.

"Ignite the sword and stick me in the neck and take
one back and you'll live."

Katsuhito groaned. "Ryoko, you and I both
know that
you're going to need all three in order to beat him.
It is better this way, I die alone and not
everyone on this planet." He was able to say in a
soft whisper.

He began to lean back and Washu held him in her arms.

"Please you can't
die. I think of you as my Father,
you can't die." Ryoko said unable to hold the tears
back any longer.

"I think of you. . .as family. . .I can only hope. .
.you can forgive me. . .for imprisoning you."

"I forgave you the moment I fell in love with Tenchi.
I don't hate you.
I never could."

"Everything. . .will. . .turn out. . .alright.
Please. . .help Brian."

"I will."

Katsuhito turned off the projection of the old man he
made himself appear and began to visibly age past the
old man. His hair, what little that was left was
completely white. His skin looked like a shriveled up
prune. He felt his heart was about to finally give
out and spoke his last words.

"Goodbye. . .daugher."

Katsuhito's eye's closed and his head went limp in
Washu's arms. She felt for a pulse, but found none.
Tears were running
down Ryoko's face. She had finally
told Katsuhito that all was forgiven. Both Washu and
Ryoko lowered their heads and said a small prayer for
the fallen priest.

Ryoko gently wiped the tears from her face. "I will
honor your sacrifice, Father."

Ryoko stood up and began to take the sorrow she felt
for Katsuhito and started turning it into a
bloodthirsty rage Tsunami herself couldn't stop. She
began to feel pure hate for the sayajin wash over her.
She was going to make Damen pay for what he has done,
make him pay hard.
Meanwhile during Katsuhito's sacrifice, Brian was
continuing the fight against his once old friend.
Although it seemed that
Damen was now stronger than he
was, Brian was able to land some punches and kicks in
on him.
Brian began throwing energy blast at Damen, who
either dodged the blasts or smacked them away. Soon
the two were moving so fast they were becoming blurs
to everyone else. Eventually in the frenzy of the
fight the two blurs made their way back down onto the
ground. Rocks and trees shattered like they were
nothing in the assault from the two.
Soon enough the two reappeared to the others staying
in roughly the same spot throwing kicks and punches in
a wild dance. Damen landed a punch to Brian's
stomach, another to the face and finished off with an
over-the-top kick to the nose. Damen's kick to his
face seemed to push a couple of Brian's buttons, he
felt a rage coming over him. The want to kill Damen
was starting to come over him stronger than before.
	Damen noticed the
rage that was written on his face
and took morbid pleasure out of angering his opponent.
Damen's grin was becoming a taunt to Brian, he felt
like Tenchi did when he first appeared five months
ago.
The two stand each other down waiting for the first
to attack. Suddenly Damen is hit from behind, the
blast destroyed what was left of his cape and scorched
his back somewhat. The two sayajins look in the
direction the blast came from and see Ayeka. Her hair
was flapping, like the wind was blowing hard, but
there wasn't any wind. She was glowing with white
energy flowing around her figure. Standing next to her
was Tenchi, holding a wooden bokken in front of him,
ready for an invisible assailant to attack at anytime.

Damen turned back to Brian, gave him a cold look and
turned around and started racing toward Tenchi and
Ayeka.

*Oh no, I've got to stop him. *

Brian begins chasing after Damen, but Damen was
faster than he was and had a small head start. Brian
knew that he wasn't going to get there in time to help
them. He just hoped that Tenchi would be able to
fight him off long enough for him to get there.
	Damen was almost within
spitting distance of the two
victims he was heading toward. Suddenly a fist
appears in front of him and connects with his face
sending him flying back. Brian stops in the air and
moves out of the way to avoid being knocked back by
Damen's deflected body.
Brian turns around and sees Ryoko floating in
the
spot where she hit Damen. She lowers her fist back
down to her side and stays in the spot waiting for
Damen to make his move.
Damen, however didn't enjoy the punch she delivered
to his face. It just seemed to hurt his pride more
than his face. She had managed to send him back
twenty feet, so he was giving her a cold stare.

* I must admit Kobiashi's
friends are more powerful
than I imagined. I could have my hands full on this.
Of course I wouldn't
have it any other way. * The
sinister sayajin thought to himself.

Brian was in disbelief at how Ryoko was able to
divert his attack from Tenchi and Ayeka. She seemed
to be more powerful now, he couldn't understand how
she gained this newfound strength. What was more he
noticed that Ryoko's eyes seemed to be glowing more
than usual. He sensed a high power coming from her,
he didn't know how she did it, but he wasn't
complaining about her timing.

"You ok Brian?" The radiant space pirate
asked.

"Yeah, I'm fine. How about you?"

"I'm enraged." She coldly replied.

Hearing Ryoko's reply made Brian think how glad he
was that she was on his side. Damen was beginning to
get aggravated with the interruptions of the others.
He wanted to finish
Brian off first, then kill his
friends afterwards. Damen was close enough to here
the conversation between Brian and Ryoko.

"OOOWWW, I'm so scared little girl. You and your
friends should be running for their lives, instead of
waiting for the slaughter."

"You know what your problem is? You talk
to much."
She answered.

"Why you little. . ." Damen vanished before finishing
his reply.

He reappeared above Ryoko, appearing to be in
mid-kick. She grabbed his foot, stopping his kick to
her face in its tracks. Damen was surprised at her
reaction time, as well as Brian.
Ryoko just stood there looking up at
him with a cold
stare in her eyes. Brian could see a burning hatred
in her eyes, it was as if it was a different person
from the woman he got to know in the past five months.

Damen was starting to see that maybe he was
underestimating his opposition in this battle. He
thought that he may have his hands full in this fight.
He floated back a couple of feet and came face to
face with the cyan haired fighter in front of him.

"Tell me, What is your name?" He asked.

"I'm Ryoko Hakubi. But you can call me your angel of
death."

"Such hatred for me. I haven't done anything to you
yet, why do you have a desire to end my life?"

"Because of you Lord Katsuhito is dead. And I will
avenge him." She replied feeling both sorrow and rage
in her statement.
Brian was taken back by what she said. * Yosho's
dead. No. *

Brian turned and looked down onto the ground and saw
Tenchi, Ayeka, and Washu standing near Katsuhito's
body lying beside them. Brian was in disbelief that
his friend had died and he wasn't able to help him.

"no. . ." He whispered
out load.

"Yes" Damen replied.

Before another second passed, Damen fired a beam from
his two index fingers on his right hand. The beam hit
Brian in the right shoulder, passing completely
through.
Brian felt the maddening burning sensation of the
beam in his shoulder. What was a second, lasted for
an eternity with the pain from the burn. Time seemed
to be passing in slow motion for Brian. He felt
himself falling back slowly, he started loosing his
altitude with Damen and Ryoko. He saw Ryoko's eyes go
wide in complete shock and horror at what happened.

"Brian!!" Ryoko cried out.

"You monster!" She screamed charging at Damen. The
two of them becoming locked in combat.

Meanwhile, Brian's body eventually connected with the
ground. He heard rustling not to far away from him
and assumed that it was the others. Tenchi, Washu,
and Ayeka ran over to Brian and checked him over.
Washu looked him over
and was quickly able to tell him
that he would be ok.

"You got lucky Brian, he didn't hit anything major,
can you move your right arm?" The red haired genius
asked.

"AAGGHH!" Was his reply from trying to move his arm.

"Well other than
that you'll be fine. I'll patch you
up to stop the bleeding." She finished reaching into
a sub-space hole and produced out a medical kit.

	Meanwhile the fight
between Damen and Ryoko
continued. Each of them seemed to be equally matched,
which made it harder to figure out who would rise out
on top. Eventually their fight reached the ground.
	Damen and Ryoko were
laying waste to their
surroundings. Whether it was one or the other being
thrown into a tree or rock, or one of the two blasting
the surrounding battlefield.
Ryoko decided to try something new. She
split
herself up into two; each of them ignited an energy
sword and charged at the sayajin. Damen was a little
surprised at her maneuver, but was ready for her
attack. The two Ryoko's hacked and slashed at him,
barely missing the fast paced sayajin. Then one
started firing powerful blasts at him, while the other
gave chase with her energy sword.
	Damen carefully maneuvered through
the trees to evade
her blasts and try to think of some way to counter
attack her. One Ryoko stayed above the tree lines
looking to see if she could spot him from the air.
The other one tried
to follow him through the tree
line.

*I don't like this, he's playing cat and mouse with
me. He could turn things around this way. I'm not
falling for it. * Ryoko thought to herself.

The Ryoko in the forest, flies up to met with her
other self, they merge together. Ryoko then flies
back down facing the direction he flew off to. She
cups her hands at her right side. The three gems
begin to glow and a red ball forms in Ryoko's hands.
She throws her hands
outward and a bright red flash
results in her attack.
A huge explosion is detonated and a massive dust
cloud covers most of the area. The others cover their
faces and wait to see what had happened. The others
hear Ryoko begin fighting and can't see anything with
all the dirt that was kicked up in her assault. A few
more smaller explosions are heard, but know one could
see what was happening. After what felt like most of
eternity waiting in the cloud of smoke, the dust began
to settle down to where they could see a few yards in
front of them.
Eventually the smoke cleared and the devastation was
unbelievable. Ryoko cleared out most of the forest in
her attack to try and kill Damen. Apparently it
didn't work, the two were locked in combat again.
	Fists and feet were
being thrown in a frenzy for one
of the two to try to hit the other. It appeared that
none of them was going to land anything on the other.

	Damen suddenly
disappears and reappears behind Ryoko,
catching her off guard and he latches on to her. He
locks his hands over her arms and wraps his legs
around hers.

"Hehehehe. Wasn't expecting that were you?" Damen
asked her.

"Let go of me you creep!"

"I was just going to show you my affection for you."
He replied.

Ryoko got a disgusted look on her face. She felt his
hold on her tighten, he was giving her a bear huge.
*  Uh Oh, he's going
to try to crush me. I gotta get
out of his hold. * She thought to herself.

	She attempted to try and
wiggle herself out of his
hold, but it was like a normal human trying to pull
themselves out of a block of cement up to their chest.
The others were watching what was taking place above
them and knew they had to do something.
	Washu, who was finished patching
Brian up, was trying
to take aim at him, since he was holding still now.
Unfortunately she didn't
have a clear shot at him at
all. There would be a huge chance of her killing her
daughter and that she wasn't able to even think about.

"Ryoko's in trouble, we need to do something." Tenchi
said, breaking the silence.

"I'd help her if I could, but I'm not sure
if I'd be
much help with one arm."

A cry of pain is heard from Ryoko catching
everyone's
attention. Damen's hold visible tightening on her.
Ryoko still trying
to wiggle out of his hold. He
tightens more, causing the fearless beauty to cry out
louder. Ayeka listened to the cries of her once old
rival. Tears started forming in her eyes, she
couldn't help her friend at all. The only thing she
could do was watch as she was slowly tortured.

"This is driving me insane,
we have to help her. We
just can't watch her die." Tenchi stated.

Suddenly an idea pops into Tenchi's head. It was a
crazy plan, but it could work.

"Brian. I need you to hit me."

Brian looks at Tenchi in disbelief. "Come again?"

"I need you to hit me with an energy blast. If you
hit me with a blast, that could activate the Light
Hawk Wings."

"You're on that crazy idea again?" He asked.

"Do you have a better idea to help her?"

Brian quickly thought for a moment. It was a crazy
plan, but it was the only thing that could be done.
He couldn't think of
anything else that he could do.
If his idea didn't work, Brian would only
be rushing
the inevitable anyway. He didn't like the idea of
being Tenchi's executioner, but it was the only plan.

"Lord Tenchi, please
I beg of you, don't do this. I
can't stand by and watch both of you die." Ayeka
pleaded, latching herself onto him.

"I don't have any other choice Ayeka. It's the only
way we can help Ryoko and stop him. Please try to be
strong lady Ayeka."

Ayeka was a little surprised at how calm Tenchi
spoke
to her. He sounded confident that in the end
everything would be alright. She trusted Tenchi with
her life and she would prove it to him now.

"Very well Lord Tenchi.
Please be careful." Ayeka
asked with concern for Tenchi.

He nodded in response to her. He then turned to face
the newest member of their growing family and waited
for his response.

"Tenchi. Just for the record, I think that this was a
bad idea. Alright I'll go through with this, but if
you die from this, I'll kill you."

Tenchi couldn't help but smile at
his new friend's
joke in this dire situation. Ayeka moved over to
stand behind Brian. Tenchi started to recall what
Tsunami told him when she repaired his body.

* Trust in your own power. Trust in your
own power. *

Tsunami's words rang throughout his head, repeating
in an echo. Tenchi relaxed his body and began to
trust in himself to help save his friends. Finally he
felt like he was as ready as he would ever be. He
nods his head to Brian to signal him to try his idea.

	Brian brings his
left hand up and extends it out in
front of him, his palm facing Tenchi. Brian hoped
that he would see his friend standing, after the
resulting dust that would be kicked up, alive and in
one piece. Ayeka watched, hoping that Tenchi would be
ok, she tried to look strong for him. However a
couple of tears were streaking down her face.
	Tenchi concentrated on
the palm of Brian's hand
waiting for the blast that would hopefully bring the
Light Hawk Wings out.

"Good luck Tenchi." Brian wished to his friend.

Suddenly a flash of light covered Brian's hand and in
an instant his energy collided with Tenchi.
