Why There Is
No Destiny
Many
people argue that there is such thing as fate and destiny. I,
however, do not believe there is such thing. Predestination seems
to be a very depressing sort of thing, especially in the context
of Calvinism- what if you are not predestined, yet you strive
your life to be perfect? I believe that you shouldn't follow principles
of fate- you should follow your own. Because everyone has different
experiences and learns different things, I believe that everyone
makes their own fate. By following the gods' guidance, making
decisions, and finding your purpose, you have made your own fate.
Though at certian magical moments in your life, such as meeting
that "perfect person", it may seem easy to attribute
that to destiny, you actually made that happen. You caused
that meeting between you two.. It just happened that you were
perfect mates! Once you have an idea of the kind of mate you are
looking for, you begin to start looking specifically for that
type- and that is how you find that person.
Though
it may be true that opposites attract and so on, that is not the
only factor working in strange, unthoughtof, relationships. If
you find yourself with someone you would not really have looked
for normally, there's a simple answer to that. You were looking
for the wrong type of person! :)
