A Birthday Poem For You

Each year goes by, day by day
We try to learn to find a new way
To bring a new friend into our lives
And you are the one, that helps me survive
Although I never new you from birth
Over the days, I have seen your worth
You make me laugh and you make me smile
I want you to be with me, for the longest while
At times you know when I need you most
As we lift our glasses I want to make a toast
The endless hours we have touched and shared
Has proven to me how much you have cared
I want you with me for all my days and definitely all the rest
