BLESSED ARE THE CHILDREN

As I wake each morning and see their faces glowing
It is then that I realize that they are still growing
They are so impressionable, yet they still have no cares
They love to laugh and play, and sometimes they blankly stare
Their imagination is endless and their friendship is far above
Because the bonds that they form come not from race nor colour, just love
These precious kids can teach us so much more
We must watch them as they learn to open that door
We can guide and nurture them only for so long
Because as they grow each day, their understanding grows strong
Sometimes we don't realize what they see or why they do it
But we are their role models and that's how they look at it
We can't always shelter them from the present, future or past
But we will be there for them from the first moment to the last
It starts in school when they are guided by their teacher
When they go to church they will follow the words of the preacher
We, as parents, will be there to guide them for the rest
And from this day froward we will all do our very best
Next time when you open your heart to let them in
Always remember...
