BURNING THE CANDLE AT BOTH ENDS
Why do we do it, at times we don't know We have to make ends meet, just because it is so We work double shifts or even overtime We become exhausted and our bodies show us a sign We slowly tire and start losing sleep Then our eyes droop as they begin to weep We want to go to bed but we need to work, just one more hour Hoping soon, with all of our money, we can build a tower We pay off our debt to start another We may borrow from a sister or a brother But deep down it is our happiness that we seek Even if we must work eighty hours a week Just get the rest that you need to keep you alive Because without it, you will never survive So the next time you run into an old friend Remind them that they are...
