As I look at you, you saw it in my eyes
I could hide it no longer; atleast you made me realize
Hundreds of others walked by, without a word
My only friend at that time, was a feeble bird
People looked at me, with my hands held out
If only I was not mute, I could have tried to shout
They would mock my clothes, for the way I dressed
If they had any idea, how much I was stressed
I had no idea, how my life had turned
If only I knew then, I may have learned
Each of us is individual, in our own way
We cannot change, what happened today
I don't ask for anything, for myself
I don't expect you, to give me your wealth
I only ask you to look at the children; for they are younger
