It all started many years ago
The independence we now enjoy, as we all know
It was signed by Franklin and Jefferson, too
I guess they really knew what to do
We share this holiday to remember that special day
Fireworks, friends, and family is just one way
The day is a memory to all of us now
We all celebrate it some way and somehow
We now thank our forefathers for everything
When the celebration starts, together we sing
It is such a very special day
We are just glad that we share it this way
