HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY


From the day I was conceived, I knew it would be right
Although I was inside your womb, I could see the light
The walls around me, protected me from within
As I was the gift, you were my wrapping
The day of my birth was the greatest of all
As I snuggled to your bosom, to you I seemed so small
Then the day came, that I took the first step
Through my little eyes, I saw that you had wept
A few years later, came my first school day
As the tears flowed, I said, "In your arms I want to stay."
Then I remember when my first tooth fell out
You comforted me with some ice, so I would not shout
But the thing I will always remember and miss
Is at night when I would give you that butterfly kiss
