A Bird In A Cage
I have sat in here, for what seems forever The bars, in time, have gotten closer together The walls have enclosed over the years With each obstacle, came the flow of tears I just sat here guarding my baby, in our nest Keeping her safe, so she can get her rest But as the years went by, it got harder each day With your temper flaring, we did not know what to say We did not know, what would trigger it off Nor did we know how to make it stop We tried to find the key, to unlock this door But that just seemed to make you scream more The time has come to leave our nest It is the right thing, it is best For some reason, you don't want her or even me So from this day on, me and my baby will be free You see now, all you are is full of rage Therefore these two birds must, now leave this cage
