SOUL MATES
At some point in our lives we will find that special person
It may take years, but we will know when it is that certain someone
We form a bond as days go by
We even look back and ask ourselves, why?
We need that significant other to stand by our side
Because through our ups and downs it may be a rough ride
We will laugh and cry together and perhaps shed a tear
But the best thing is knowing we will always be here
He may give her a rose just to make her day better
As she may surprise him by sending a special letter
The best things about friends, is doing things together
Walking along the beach, and enjoying the weather
Sitting by the fireplace, sharing a glass of wine
Or holding hands side by side just to pass the time
Looking into each others eyes searching the depths of our soul
As our hearts start beating as rhythmic as a drum roll
We now know that we have met that friend that we have sought
You see, that friend is in our heart, our soul and in our every thought
It may take each of us time, and most certainly will involve fate
