Have you ever wondered what we really see or hear
At times you may be surprised, when we shed that tear
When you raise your voice, we have feelings
Although we are young, we still need healing
We may not listen always, but you need not shout
The louder you scream, the more we block you out
We are defenseless, when you raise your hand
All we can do is absorb the pain and stand
You will always be stronger, no matter what
We try our best, even when we reply, "But"
Just remember always, that scars never heal
The pain we may endure will always be real
We love you so much, with our angelic face
All we need is a warm embrace
So before you discipline your child, just step back and realize
