The Wedding Poem
From the day she was born, I always knew That time would come. What would I do? She would first crawl and then take a step She lost her first tooth, in a box is where it was kept Then she went to school for the first day Then came graduation on that day in May She had her first date with her best friend Who she said would be hers until the end That brings us here, where we all gather There's no other place that we'd rather All of her close friends and her family Like the base of a friendship, the roots of a tree I will walk her down the aisle, hand in hand I will give her away, and together they'll stand We have not lost a daughter, but gained a son The two of you will now become one You will always be with us and in our hearts Love will keep you together and never apart
