the Johnny Five formed in early 2001 in Corpus Christi, Texas, and was comprised of Nick Stale (bass/vocals), Kye Rotti (guitar/vocals) and Dusty Licious (drums). This line-up had a lot of success, releasing their 9 song, 16 minute opus "Vienna Sausage Choir" in Spring, 2002. The band played all over Texas, and completed one West Coast tour (the Kissing Robots Tour, with Corpus Christi band the Bends), visiting 10 states in a little under one month in late 2002/early 2003 in support of the album.

A few months after arriving home from tour, the three original members parted ways. Nick moved back to Corpus Christi and got married, Kye also got married and moved to Beaumont, Texas to play with the band Joe Jitsu, and Dusty moved to Austin, Texas and got married.

After sitting on his duff for a year and a half, Nick decided to put a new line-up of the Five together because of constant letters and e-mails requesting a reunion. Nick put together a new lineup consisting of himself, Shane Fling on drums and Jim Rotn on guitar. This lineup played three shows and broke up. It was a mistake from the start.

In November 2005, Nick, Kye, and Dusty decided to stop depriving people of what they want: the real Johnny Five. Reunion shows are planned with the original lineup and who knows, maybe a record? Time will only tell...

Obviously, the boys take their name from the classic 80s movie, Short Circuit, and pride themselves on writing silly catchy punk songs that at the same time will rock your ass off. Keep your eyes and ears open for this force...for soon you will not be able to escape the grasps of the mighty Johnny Five!
