The Christmas Season
Liturgical Color: White/Gold
The Christmas season is twelve days long. Contrary to what the secular world might lead you to believe, the twelve days of Christmas begin on Christmas day.
On Christmas eve, a great celebration occurs as the Messiah is brought into our world. We celebrate for twelve days until the Epiphany.
During this time, you will see Christmas trees and wreaths in the Church. White and gold cover the Altar and the pulpit. The carols are familiar to everyone and they are joyful and loud.
Christmas carols are Christian. The familiar ones you will find in almost any hymnal, but there are some carols out there that are not very well known. I have only sequenced the familiar ones. Perhaps I will expand on my Christmas page later on.
Here are some of my favorite carols:
O Come, All Ye Faithful (Adeste Fidelis)
The First Noel (one verse only)
