SLICK SHOES SPECIAL

Apr.6,2002.>Y'ello. The Slick Shoes picture below has been on the site for a while now, and, since there is quite a story behind it, I thought I'd just enlighten you folk a little. On February 2nd, 2002, Slick Shoes played with the Supertones and Pax 217 at an event in Otterburne Manitoba called Youth Encounter. This event happens annually at Providence college and this year, by coincidence, it was called YE2002 (Slick Shoes actually played at YE2000 as well). Anyway, after the show, the band happened to be out in the lobby being cool and hanging out with the kids who came to the show. (On a necessary sidenote to make the story come together, I was on a poster that advertised sumo wrestling as an activity that would take place that weekend). Being the incredibly outgoing guy that I am (not), I waltzed up to Joe and Ryan who happened to not be doing anything at the moment and may have introduced myself (can't remember) and then proceded to tell them they put on a rocking show (which they did). Anyway, I had previously planned out how I would do this and was carrying a sumo poster with me on it, in my hand. After the preliminary "rocking show" line, I cleverly asked them if they checked their emails. They totally weren't expecting it and looked at each other in bewilderment and then replied "yeah". So I handed Joe the copy of the Kickaz cd seen below, specially set aside for them, and requested that they let me know what he thought of the cd whenever he got the chance. He assured me then that as soon as he got back home he would definitely send the coveted email to me. Well I don't know If he's been home since then, but he hasn't sent an email yet. Back to the story...so after my inner exclamation of joy had resided I happened to don my ever exciting poster. I told them I was the poster boy for the weekend's sumo event and then signed it personnally for them (for which I'm sure they are forever grateful of me). Then I said "Later" or something and went to do something else. What I learned out of writing this is what a fruit I sound like when I type stupid stories, and what Joe and Ryan probably learned is that I am special. This story is completely real, and I felt you should all know. Thanks.
