This is a Fushigi Yugi OAV sountrack, the first of 3.  Personally, I have really enjoyed this cd and hope you all of the pleasure of owning it yourself!   I'm having a problem with the page at the moment, but will have it fixed shortly, and there you will be able upload the songs!

Introduction

This piece uses trumpets, possibly a trombone, (although it sounds like a french horn once or twice), piano, drums and the ever present synthesizer!
The song starts off with a drum roll which rolls into a fanfare.  A wonderful way to start off the song!  It's reminicient of marching military songs of the past, but this track, much like Star, has those high synth notes that add a feeling of longing and slight anticipation which are very suited to the beginning of any Fushigi Yugi episode!  The songg ends with another fanfare which moves into the trombones and a series of quick low notes!  The overall effect is the drum roll and brass building and then BAM at the end of the song and Star starts immediately.  This is an enjoyable track that makes for great background music while you're working away!

Star

Star includes the piano, a keyboard, synthesizer, drums and vocals.
The piano enters with the synthesizer which has a mysterious feeling and the high notes build and then the drums enter picking up the slow pace and the high synth notes continue building until the vocals enter quick, soft and fairly low with gentle high notes.  The voice is calm, and almost longing.  The voice will build, and then you hear Star or Love and the speed picks up again.  Overall, to this point, the song has that keep on perservering feeling, but is tainted with longing, or uncertainty.  Approximately halfway through, the guitar solo begins.  This solo is the turning point in the song because afterwards the uncertaintly and longing disappears from the singers voice, leaving only the determination.  The solo is short and sweet.  The song ends with a short guitar solo as well.  The vocals have a gentle sweet sound and this song, is overall, wonderful!
Overall, I really enjoy this song and could, and do, listen to it repeatedly!
