Part
1
Buffy was sitting at her desk in her UC Sunnydale dorm. The computer in front of her was on and she was typing.
"I’m finally done!" She exclaimed happily, leaning back into her chair. "Five thousand word essays…and I though high school was bad!" She quickly clicked save, and then print. Her essay printed, and she slipped it into her binder.
"Okay…now what?" She wondered, thinking out loud. "Willow’s out with Oz and won’t be back until midnight and it’s only ten now, though I don’t know how I managed that…" The phone rang. She stood up and ran over, picking it up on the third ring.
"Hello?" She said into the phone.
"Hi Buffy, it’s Willow." Came the reply.
"Oh, hey Will, what’s up?"
"I’m at Oz’s and I want him to read the thesis I wrote for my English course. I have it saved on the computer, can you e-mail it to him? His address is FrenchMonkeys@yahoo.com."
"Um okay, how do I do that?" Buffy asked.
"Okay, since we have cable I can guide you through it over the phone. It’s really easy. First get on the net by double clicking the internet icon," Willow told her.
"Okay."
"Highlight the box at the top and type in www.hotmail.com then press enter," Willow instructed her.
"I’m in hotmail," Buffy stated.
"Okay, my username is ‘TheMagickChick,’ no spaces, and then you have to enter my password."
Buffy laughed. "You sure you trust me with this, Willow? You’re not worried that I’m going to read all your messages?"
I trust you, Buffy," Willow answered. "It’s footprint, no spaces and no capitals."
"Okay…but footprint, Will?"
"It’s supposed to be something that nobody would guess. Anyhow, are you in?"
"I’m in," Buffy affirmed.
"Good, now click compose." Willow instructed. "Then click attachments."
"And then?"
"Click browse, then under my file, under English, there should be a document labeled Thesis. Did you find it?"
"Yup, so double click?"
"Uh-huh, then click done."
"Okay."
"Then type in Oz’s address in the To field, then in the subject field enter "Willow’s Thesis." Okay?"
"Done,"
Buffy
stated.
"Good, now send it," Willow told her.
"Okay," Buffy said with a smile, though Willow couldn’t see her.
"Thanks, Buffy, bye!" Willow said cheerfully before hanging up.
Buffy logged out then looked at the homepage. "Get your free hotmail!" It said. *Why not?* She thought before clicking the sign up logo.
Buffy began filling in her info. After she was done she came back to the login name. She paused, staring at the screen. She rested her hands on her lap with a sigh. *What would be a good e-mail address?* She thought.
She found herself fiddling with her ring. She looked down. Her claddagh ring. Angel had given to her, she remembered. They had been on the docks, she had thought she was going to lose him that night, and in the end, she had. She had gotten him back though, but now he was gone for good, of his own free will. She closed her eyes, shutting out the memory.
"Claddagh," she said, typing it in. It was already in use. She sighed, upset. "Okay, Claddagh28." She smiled as she was told that her new hotmail address had been created.
